Today, I will be showing you how to ride the trains in Japan using one of the most popular IC cards called Suica! IC cards are a huge life hack in Japan, due to the fact that they can be used not only for riding trains, but also for paying for things at convenience stores and many restaurants! Today, I will be showing you how to create and charge your Suica card, as well as how to pay and use your Suica on the train!

Thank you for showing how to use the Suica. Maybe it would be good to also show how to purchase those day passes on the PASMO.
Should i buy SUICA if i have JR Pass already?
You talked about charging the card at the vending machine and selecting the amount to charge – but NOT HOW to charge it.
When you charge your Suica card, is it possible to use your credit/debitcard to pay at the vending machine? Or does the vending machine only accept cash?
Thanks for making this one, I saved it for when I travel.
thanks!
Great video! From japan
If you add the suica on your wallet do you still need to buy a physical card? And how would you link a physical suica card to your wallet?
can you out more than 10,000 yen? as thats not very much.
You didn't cover the most important thing! Suica is Japanese for 🍉
if you print you name on it and lose it you have a better change of getting it back. i lost one at Haneda and got it back 3 days later. 😺just had to show my passport
thank you for this video! its so helpful for my first trip back to jp since covid…❤
SuicaはiPhoneにも入りますよ✌️
Hey David! So if I use Suica, how many cash x day should I bring? I don't want to come back to my country with a ton of yen and ending up losing money😭
does icoca card work in tokyo?
and can i charge icoca via pasmo machines?
The issue I have is that I have more than enough money on the card but the light still turns red
Thanks for the useful video. Can the SUICA card be used all over Japan? Our travel route: Tokyo (arrive) – Nara – Hiroshima – Kyoto – Osaka (depart). When we depart from Osaka, could we obtain a refund from the SUICA machine?
So Do I still need a jr pass if I’m using suica , or do I need both ( for train reason )
not truly cashless because you still have to top up with cash only (no credit cards)
But how do you buy kids ones?
