My father and I travelled to Saipan and Tinian Island in March 2010 to visit the WWII historic sites. This is Part II of our Tinian trip as we travel up to the very historic North Field which in 1945 was the largest and busiest airport in the world. It’s best known for the launching of the atomic bombs that hit Hiroshima and Nagasaki in August 1945. This part focuses on the bomb pits themselves.
