This needs to be said. Everyone is treated in a racist way in the US, not just black Americans. People need to know that. Everyone is judged by the color of their skin in the US including so called white people. It's because the US is being dominated by cheap propaganda specialists. Reducing people to the color of their skin is a false ideology yet they wish to push this ideology on all of us. Anyway, I'm happy people are finding some relief from racism in Africa. Settling in Ghana sounds similar to settling in many developing countries.
I've listened to you but Africa is not America or any of the so called developed countries. I was born in Jamaica, the vulture, food and way of life is exactly the same as Africa. I moved to America and have lived there for 50 years, but I know that I can not go to Africa with a Western mindset. Things are more the same than different. Here is why I say that. Living in California and New York City is not the same as living in the foothills of Kentucky. So Accra is developed living there is not the same as living in the northern region. If you don't have a bundle of money don't go live in Accra. Find people you can trust. Don't ho in the markets alone. Get a native Ghanian to accompany you and let them do the buying and bartering for you. I am Jamaican and they try to up the price on me so the same goes for Africa. The mindset is everyone coming from America is "rich"
I was told by a Ghanian that Ghanians do not appreciate outsiders taking their jobs or business opportunities in their land.
They would like outsiders to only spend money there, like in tourism or retirement.
Just seeing multiple personal experiences of Americans going to Ghana from all over the internet, including many in various comment sections, I think im going to pass.
Which is unfortunate, because I had high hopes for it, and the US has been devolvong into what we see it is now since the 70s. I'm sure with the police state the way it is, the current rise in fascism & the return with a vengeance of open white supremacy things are only going to getuch worse though.
Stop making excuses and just do it. Most of you talk yourself out of things with that "gotta plan, excuse. Know who you are, to know what you want and expect anything. Chances are you wont change and if you do, it will take time, so you will have that shock. Expect one year of learning prices, directions and meeting a true friend (someone not out for your money). Have passive income or digital nomad and get a health insurance. Look at the bad sides before you get there not all the good stuff. Weather is important too. tropical storms are no joke! The only way to know what you are made of is to step out of your comfort!! Coming from a family of 5, on our 3rd country and seen 65% of the worlds countries and still going!! Nothing you can say can convince me you are not full of bs. We out here!! Consolidate debt, get debt free, get one EMERGENCY only credit card for an eject button, be able to pack life in two bags or less and goodbye!!! We need more us out here in these countries. I should start a chanel. Dont like cameras though

I live in Mexico, and I did buy emergency pesos, when i came here in 2021. Starting July 13, I will use my emergency pesos to pay rent for the next 5 months. My rent went from $673 per months to$874 per month for the same apartment, that I love. It does include all utilities, wifi, maid and security, and 100% beautifully furnished. My pensions comes on a USA debit card, and ATM fees are refunded. I always stock up on 6 months preps.
I paid $1900 per month for everything when i left the deadly and expensive USA at 79 in 2021. I do not want a Mexican banl account for it would be hard for my American family to get my savings.
Queretaro, but always be alert anywhere. Merida is too hot, and Acapulco had too many earthquakes.

Queretaro works for me. Safe, Cool, and I have local friends.
Singaporean laws. Send all criminals from top to bottom to Ukraine and Sudan. Fentanyl tablet for all killers and rapists. Shave heads of males and females with felonies.
Leave the USA.
I worry about nothing, but that is how I am. I am retired, and at the age of 79 I do not need money from anyone, for I am a giver to non beggars, so they can help themselves. I do not like beggars, or scammers asking for loans or donations.
Keep your USA income, and just visit the different countries on vacation time. Never depend on donations. Help non beggars help themselves. Do not use any drugs. Trust only GOD. Keep written, audio, and video journals. Be married, even if you have separate homes, if you want sex and a baby after 35 for women, and 45 for me. You need your own space.
Queretaro works for me, after over 60 years visiting and living part time, and WORKING in the USA, Live where you can afford, and you are happy with the climate, safety etc.

I moved to Queretaro on 11-2-2021, and I am loving this city, and have lived in the same beautiful apartment, since day 1. At 79, I will stay here, until I die, and I will never take a test, pills, or injections, for I know my body. I am too old for visa runs, and I do have a highly recommended man, that will work for me. to get the temp retirement visa.
The people here have been super kind and respectful, and I am the same towards them. I do not have to walk, for I have many new friends with cars.
I wish the best for both of you, and so happy, that I worked from 7-70, and my pension supports me much better , than in the USA and it is safer, cleaner, and $850 less per month.
Mexico has been my favorite place, since I visited in 1962 at age 20, and fell in love with Acapulco, but not the 6 earthquakes, that I have experienced there and one hurricane.
I do speak Spanish as a second language. I love my own chicken wings etc. lol

I can live anyplace in the world, but since I am more familiar with my next door neighbor(Mexico), i am comfortable here. I am USA Muslim, and Africans are everywhere.

I can't help but notice that mixed couple behind you when I can there I would like to see black love .
The way I hear people describe the peace in Ghana reminds me of Jamaica,at least the Jamaica that used to be peaceful but as the country gets developed the more crime we are having,now people are living in fear in Jamaica because the murder rate is very high,I hope that never happens to Ghana.

Seems like I am hearing the same themes about Ghana from different people but the same stories. Power and electricity issues. No regard for driving rules/laws. No motivation to show up on time or efficiency and pride in work. Fleecing of black American tourist. Dislike of AA by Ghanains. Etc…. If Ghana knows these problems exist, they have no interest or motivation in fixing them. They are also going broke due to poor management and corrupt political leadership. If Africa got its act together, the entire Continent would Unite and become one of the most powerful nations on the planet. The resources pulled out of the ground in Africa power the entire World. Africa should be one of the Richest Countries on the planet. Instead, you have Politicians building 25-30 room Mansions in gated security patrolled compounds and extreme poverty less than 1/2 a mile away. Just sad and Pathetic!
