DYA717 June 26, 2017 Kumamoto
6:30 a.m. onsen furo. 8 a.m. breakfast. There was a couple from Manchester, UK, checking out the same time as me and the staff came out to send us off with ALOHA! While posing for last pictures with the couple, the British guy taught the ryokan ladies how to do what we in Hawaii call the Shaka sign. They said they use that sign to mean “OK” or “alright”. Gee, it’s the same as ours! It was only a 1 minute drive up the driveway in the ryokan shuttle to the bus stop on the highway. Caught the 10:35 a.m. bus to Kumamoto – another 3-hour 2500-yen bus ride. Got into Kumamoto around 1:45 p.m. and went BURA-BURA. Walked around the shopping area for a while and dropped into the Gecko Asian foods & Bar for my lunch/dinner. They only had 2 choices – beef curry and 6-veggie curry soup. The beef curry w/some sort of yellow-rice was spicy ONO! Nothing much else exciting about today so going be a short video. Tomorrow I head back to the states so this is the last video for this trip.
