ABOUT WANDERING BIRD
In 2018, I quit my job as an air traffic controller to travel in a van. That’s adulting, right?
Since then, I’ve spent most of my time living in a motorhome, touring the UK and Europe, sometimes with my husband, sometimes with my daughter and sometimes enjoying solo female vanlife (well, with my dog, Mac!)
Wandering Bird was created to help motorhomers and campervanners make the most of their time on the road.
We share weekly tips, tricks and reviews to encourage and inspire your next adventure, whether you’re a complete motorhoming beginner, or a more experienced owner looking for new ideas or places to visit.

Thanks Kat, I love how clear and concise you always make it. I’m loving your adventures.
Thanks for all the great vlogs. Really enjoying your trip.
Your videos are always very well made and interesting, thank you 😀
What an adventure, & packed so much information in the video I think I know all I need to know. But I need to digress, your complexion is awesome, how do you care for your skin when travelling, so many weathers you tackle, I bet your one of the lucky ones with fabulous genes. 😊
Well done, very interesting and informative👍
I am intrigued now. You said that you were in the Navy. I was Comms (a good while ago I might add). What branch were you?
Thanks Kay really useful information.only flown to Iceland but looks a great adventure in your own van. a trip to consider and I understand you need to book campsites and not wild camp? Thanks Dave
Did you have a problem ensuring that your insurance company covered you in Iceland?
Hi newby here. Very informative vid. What were the costs to get to the Danish ferry and which ferry terminal for Denmark did you use?
Great load of information and pros and cons, thanks, excellent.
Hey Kat, love the video. What was the trip plan from the UK to Denmark? What was the route?
Hi Kat, great video, given me ideas for a future trip!
What’s your thoughts on the cost of food, fuel, etc., in Iceland? Cheers.
Wonderful to see this video. I already have it on the list to do and previously priced up the trip with simliar cost to you. A big trip but much cheaper than renting a MH over there if staying for 3 or 4 weeks 🙂 Exiting! Have fun.
Brilliant vlog Kat! Great tip about the lunch costs. Well worth a watch. Keep up the good work X
Good explanations but some silly prices when it's all added up…think I'd rather tour Scotland or UK.
Hi Kat, is the ferry pet friendly?
