Hikes In Valley Of Fire State Park

Hey you guys! Thanks for joining us on another journey. We are at Valley Of Fire State Park, outside Vegas. It is one of Nevada’s state parks and a must-do. We stopped to take in Elephant Rock and the Beehives. It’s incredible what Mother Nature has sculpted at Valley Of Fire State Park! I wanted to go down and explore what looked like a slot canyon tom me, but April hesitated saying it wasn’t a marked trail. And saying there were other places we wanted to see before the sun set. I gave her a hard time, saying that we could take the easy tourist’s way out–to which she gave me the bird, hahaha. She pointedly said that nothing she has done with me has been the easy tourist’s way out. When checking out the cabins, I asked April if she could imagine living in them. She had to inform me that they were built for shelter along the Arrowhead Trail. We stopped at Atlatl Rock to see the petroglyphs. I wondered how they got up the height of those stairs. April stated that likely the ground was higher up four thousand years ago. A local asked us if we had seen the Bat-woman near Mouse’s Tank, but we told her we hadn’t heard of it. She explained where it is and we were disappointed we missed it–sounded cool. We also stopped at Arch Rock; a cute little baby arch. I had to be reminded yet again to not climb on the rocks, haha. I definitely feel like this is the best way to experience Vegas. Go to The Strip at night, but come check out Valley Of Fire during the day! Our last stop of the day was the Petrified Logs. It was colder & windier by then. April wondered how old the log was; I said a gazillion years old…and a day! 😀 Thank you for watching all the way to the end, and share it with a friend!
