About a year ago, I made a video about Zenkoji temple (善光寺).
If you don’t know what Zenkoji temple is, it is a 1400 year old temple located in Nagano prefecture. During my trip, they were doing a month event called “Gokkaicho (御開帳)” which is an important event to open the doors of the buddha statue.
And, during this period, tourists and prayers are allowed to see the statue which you can only see it again once in 7years.
Through this video, I’ll taking you around the temple and show one of the highlights of Gokkaicho.
And, if you’re interested to go there during the next Gokkaicho, the next one will be 2029, so make sure to make your calendars and check their official website for more details in the future.
