  1. Such a great and fascinating video! In the hotel and airport, it was "Home Alone" Josh Cahill-style!😀👍

  2. I find it incredible that two countries (according to KAYAK) in 2023 don't allow entry due to "pandemic" even though 190–205 countries have no entry restrictions.

  3. Oh, that flight attendant will be sent to the gulags for speaking badly about her state-owned employer.

  4. They maybe operate this flights to keep the airports slots and their pilots certified… and since they are state operated in a dictatorship, they propably dont care about economics but just burn money. It all seems like a huge waste, anyway.

  5. It was impressive to see the hospitality that the staff at the airport provided you. Also it was cool to see you enjoy the food on the airline. Hopefully next time you can go out and about and do tourist activities.

  6. I'm wondering what their bookings were like pre-pandemic, because I remember once ANA started carrying passengers after the pandemic I saw some very light loads for a 787. (18 – 50 pax)
Now I am seeing full 777-300s.

For an airline to still be in the 50 or less range is sad.

  7. It maybe empty flight and deserted airport due to Covid restrictions,as we saw they did Covid test for every arrival passengers so it could be the reason and yes it’s not easy to obtain a Turkmenistan visa but non the less there should have been some local passengers presence at the airport, but it’s also a unique experience to have the entire hotel and airport terminal to ur self 👏👏

  8. Ouch, Josh! Get back in the knife drawer; you're much too sharp! Not only taking a swipe at Nonstop Dan, but Noel Phillips, too? Wow, you're in rare form, lol!
I'm glad you had a good time. I think I would have been scared to death if I'd been locked into a hotel. This has to be the most unusual trip you've vlogged. So…what's it like to have your own private 777? I must admit to being very relieved when you arrived in Stanstead. I thought the Turkmenis wanted to keep you all to themselves, lol!

  9. I flew some 20 years ago with them Frankfurt to Bangkok via Ashgabat. It was a real adventure. We had a technical fuel stop in Ashgabat. The flight was operated with a B757. For the fueling procedure we had to deplane and we had to take all of our belongings with us. The fuel stop took hours when we went back to the aircraft I noticed that the B757 had shrink to a B737. I thought we will never make it to BKK with a B737 since the fuel capacity was not the same as a B757. As soon as seated the crew made an announcement in Turkmenisch , the second was in Russian where I understood Delhi. What an adventure I thought. I had a very memorable flight over the Himalayan mountains. In Delhi we had a second fuel stop before flying to Bangkok. In the past 20 years I had hundreds of flight but this one was one I never forget. The return leg was quite uneventful B757 BKK-ASB-FRA

  10. Omg hysterical 😂 First I can’t believe they only had 3 flight attendants on a 777 that’s nuts. I guess they don’t have to follow the 50 seat rule per one FA even if the flight is empty. But I’m sure you know how to evaluate yourself from a 777. I also loved that you mentioned Dan and Noel love them too. The people looked so nice the airport amazing and fabulous hotel. Love how clean everything was. Glad you did this one as I don’t think I’ll ever visit a country like that one. You be so brave 😂 Another great review 👍✈️

  11. Turkmenistan Airlines exemplifies the old Soviet saying "we pretend to work, and they pretend to pay us". Their entire aviation industry is obviously subsidized by their natural gas reserves – just like the rest of the country.

  12. So I guess if you ever see your cabin crew hurriedly putting on their shoes you know you're probably in trouble.

  13. Beautiful woman approaches, says "you need hotel, yes? Okay," gestures for me to follow. I had a dream that started like that the other night.
It didn't end quite the same…
