Camera Lady challenges me to only use one lens in a very difficult area to photograph in my local woods.

  1. We all need a camera lady in our lives. I love ya'lls interaction. Also, we all want to be somewhere else but I finally got out myself this past weekend and had fun shooting, even if I didn't capture many keepers. But I had fun in my own area and that's what matters.

  2. 1. Very nice to see you out and about, and it was clearly just the right medicine on a beautiful day!
    2. Tell Camera Lady that was some fine B-roll work, and the shot of you among the trees was excellent!
    3. Your Blue Bird Slope Day has become one of my favorite LR presets–I really like what it does with the tones and colors. Thanks!

  3. FOMO? What? You'd leave home and miss that wonderful bird soap opera in your own back yard?

And thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for the shout-out!

  4. Enjoy the Gila, I've heard it can be a magical wildlife viewing area. I find myself going to the same places over and over again but it only takes that one morning to re-energize and inspire. Great video!!

  5. Brent, I wanted to chime in here after your comment about your desire to help others learn the skills of photography. I just returned from a fabulous trip to Sweden. I knew in advance I was going meet for the first time 51 people. Some were relatives, some were friends and others were just people I have met through the internet. As greeting gifts I took along 150 prints, 8 X 10. After meeting anyone I told them I was “in” to photography. I then showed them the prints. I stated if they saw anything that appealed to them, they were more than welcome to have one. One after another would say,. “these are beautiful, is there anyway I can have 2, sometimes 3. I obviously said sure. When I got the last person, he had the choice of only 3 prints. The other 147 were gone. I got praise way beyond what I deserved. Many asked me how I became a “great” photographer…(their words not mine). I said the most important things I have learned were from Brent Hall, a famous internet teacher. Having a Canon R5 and 2 great lens. canon 100/500 and the 600 f4 also helped immensely. …your wisdom… ‘Get to the level of the object’.. I have laid on the ground to take photos’… ‘don’t use your extender and zoom lens thinking you can take photos from half a mile away’. And most importantly get out and enjoy nature with no regards of how your photos compare to anyone else. 3 of the folks I met asked me to contact National Geographic and offer them my serves. . What a hoot! Lastly, with every photo I took and gave out; I wanted them to feel as if they were there with me when I took the shot. I don’t enhance my photos, I let a red tailed hawk show its natural colors, let the bird or scene to be natural. Don’t be surprised if you get some new contacts from Sweden. Thanks immensely for all that you have done for me and your fellow followers.

  6. 4:53 Satyr comma (Polygon satyrus) The erratic kamikaze fly pattern indicated you had commas butterflies around you. Hoping you recuperate soon from that shoulder. Enjoyed the video. Cheers

  7. Hi Brent great to see you out and about again. ‘Do your own thing, always’. It works. All of us out here that follow you look forward to it because it’s yours. I’ve seen Simon out there and wish I could be out there, also think that when I see your stuff. You have one very important thing most of us don’t, YOU HAVE A CAMERA LADY! That’s something to cherish and be very thankful for. Keep up the brilliant work, the pair of you. Phil AKA Keepclickingphotography

  8. Brent, The YouTube community doesn't know what they are missing spending all of that money to go to exotic places. There is SO much cool landscape between your house and mine. The opportunities for original compositions are huge. The world doesn't need any additional photos of Mesa Arch, the Moulson barn, or Iceland. Here in NM, we are so blessed and fortunate with photographic opportunity and only a few miles from our homes.

  9. I come to Bosque del Apache twice a year from PA so you are already in a place that I would love to be right now. Perspective, right? Non birders won’t get this but there is no sentence that can’t be halted so we can try to locate that bird. You do it all the time and it makes me feel like I’m out birding with you. I enjoy all your videos. BTW, camera lady got a bunch of poison ivy in frame to support your narrative.

  10. You're my kind of people Brent. Dont ever change. What we may seem as boring, may be interesting to others. It's difficult as a creator to not fall into that trap of comparison. I feel it often as well, with the epic wildlife and epic locations of those within the creator space and here I am in Ohio. All I have is white tail deer, eagles, and a crap ton of waterfowl here along Lake Erie. No Epic mountains. No Epic bear, moose, Elk etc… What's typically considered a fly over state. but just like you said, as soon as you head out into nature that's near you, it all goes away. Social media can defiantly make us feel insignificant. Make our art insignificant when compared to others. But it also allows us the opportunity to be grateful for what we each have to share with others our encouragement, our art, and message that can bring us together as photographers. Prayers for your speedy recovery with your shoulder. Cheers and Happy Shooting.

  11. Brent, be happy your in New Mexico, you could be stuck in a frozen wasteland. We all get tired of where we are and want to be elsewhere. But you do amazing things that the rest of us greatly appreciate from your home base.

  12. Brent, I love your channel! I live in Ohio, there isn’t too much traveling in my life. I’d kill to be in New Mexico even for a week. Love the butterfly shots! I’m saving for a macro lens. I’ve come to realize there is a whole tiny world close to home. Ever considered macro? I love that you shoot and teach multiple types of photography! When I come back from an outing my partner asks me did you shoot them in the face? Often it’s more like shot them in the butt, as they spot me an run!

  13. I’d love to visit NM someday and enjoy the beautiful scenery and creatures there. I have many incredibly beautiful opportunities here in Florida but it can sometimes feel like I take it for granted. We all need variety and new experiences. Just seeing the beautiful forest was a treat, Camera Lady captures such beautiful views too. Thanks for taking us along on this hike!

  14. Great video. I love your videos more when you're more relaxed and just being "yourself".

  15. Awesome.. beautiful butterfly pictures taken with the Canon 100-500mm lens.. you and camera lady are brilliant.. your videos are so entertaining and informative 👏 😁

  16. I love that you bring up the therapeutic, I live in the woods on a mountain in Nova Scotia. I really recommend you travel here for photography some time it would be so different and you'd appreciate things I couldnt. I grew up by Peggy's cove in a similar village and could set you up on a boat for a day with my uncle or another photographer as well.
