  1. Hi, Bill, glad to see you are back on form, and treatment going well.
Chiang Mai is a favourite city, and I will be walking the same streets as you in a few months time….but I won't be in any bars in the Chang Klang Road

  2. Did you say ,he was going to his car ,met and he is drinking?? first bad move ,and then more beer at a other bare ,bad move ,,,love your channel ,kenn Denmark

  3. I heard years ago (in China), how a pretty women would approach foreigners and attempt to talk to them to "practice their language skills", and then suggest that they can talk more in a nearby bar. They sit down, talk a bit, and the girl disappears. The guy has to then pay obviously excessive drink charges.

  4. Interesting story. Never had a problem in CM. Often drunk on my own in the past. Glad you're feeling good. These cannabis shops are a bad idea. Old username: 1990

  5. Name the bar. It’s certainly not common, 4 years here and I’ve never seen one. Name it so people can avoid it. Scams like that are what will kill Thailand tourism industry.

  6. During one of my early trips to Thailand, an Aussie guy in Phuket tried to give me some scratch off cards. He seemed a bit dodgy and my instincts were to not take them. He got a little irate and tried to scold me for being distrustful. For a long time I wondered what he was up to until a friend told me it was a pretty common trick. The scratch cards will tell you you're a winner but it's just a ploy to get you to a free lunch where you will be pressured into looking at a presentation for a timeshare. I'm glad I followed my instincts.

  7. I think its much quieter in the side alleys then around taa pae gate. Could hardly hear the first half of the video.

  8. Great tip about the locals who speak good English. And always best to be home late at night. And to those who complain about the Thai streets -You get what you pay for. Our property tax in Southern California was over $6,300 a year. Here in Thailand we recently paid 21 cents for the year. Yes, 21 cents (7.5 Baht)! So as long as Thais prefer lower taxes, you will have certain issues all across the board.

  9. Good to see you out and about, looking and sounding great, Bill. Had a couple of friends undergo immunology treatment and they only have good things to say about it.Hope the insurance company is still meeting expectations. Ive just increased my coverage with them and added the Missus to the policy. Stay well and keep us entertained, Buddy

  10. Been living here in the LOS for a bit over 20 years, paid off our house last year here in Khon Kaen. Never saw your channel before. Thanks for the glimpse of Chiang Mai.

  11. Glad to hear that you are doing good, and they got everything bad out of you. I agree with you about Chiang Mai, I've never felt anything but safe here, but I also stay out of bars.

  12. Nice one Bill, something similar happened to my cousin at one of the karaoke places about 5 years ago, had him for 17k baht, a place close to Nawarat bridge. Glad you're back!

  13. actually I've been drinking in Chiang Mai for nearly 20 years and been to some low life bars and have never seen anything like this,,, I suspect for every 10 "stories" about this there might be one truth…. disregard ,,enjoy CM, if you want drama turn on the TV, Thanks for your vids though Unseen

  14. When random English speaking Thais try to engage in conversation with me I just say mai ao krap 😂when they realise you know Thai they tend to walk away 😂

  15. Lol I lived there for 9 years in Chiang Mai know the erea like the back of my hand loy kroh tha pae moon muang santi tham Chang klan hangdong san sai I walk around all hrs through the sois

  16. Very old scam
The dumb Thais stole it from Europe. I know a UK gangster. Did along stretch. Real dangerous man. They caught him on it in BKK. But he had heavy Thai security he called after they got the money of him. They waited for the owner to leave and snatched him. They got the money back touched up the dumb Thai
Dumped him in a soi. The UK guy drunk
    Next

  17. That happens a lot in Beijing and Shanghai, in China it's either a tea house or a bar but yes, the girls work for the establishment and somehow speak your language to recruit Lǎowài for highly inflated prices backed by beatdown boys with the guise of hooking up with that hot lady or even young girl, sucks that it's happening in Thailand now. BEWARE

  18. Good to hear you doing well Bill. Has been awhile since I,ve seen one of your videos. Your story is just another form of people making some money to feed their family. Again us Farangs are just a walking ATM
