86° is just O.K.. I like King's Hawaiian Bakery. Da kine!
“Not too sweet” is going to take over the world.
yessssss finally! BOBA is nasty af and its bad for your digestive system.
85 Degree! Yummmmmy!
filipino spanish bread!! is a staple now in the military, DOD gatherings
I do love Asian's cakes😍
I just ordered Boba milk tea from Jack in the Box today. It's like honey Boba from Ding Tea.
Actually Asian bread is made a little differently from Western bread. We use the Tangzhong/Yudane/湯種 method to make it fluffier and last longer.
lets goooooo
It's becoming mainstream, it's not taking over.
I love all the Asian flavored bakeries. Absolutely love SE Asian flavored creams and pastries. Pandan leaf, matcha, adzuki paste, sweet potato, and ube flavors are classics. I am absolutely obsessed by Lysee tho.(Korean/French/NY) The desserts are visually beautiful and intricate but also with beautiful flavors. I can understand in this case why it's so packed and difficult to get in the door.
I love the Bakery at my local H Mart, but seriously enjoy the home bakeries that sell at our local farmers market here in Tempe, AZ. I'm always on the look out for other locations.
I love Asian bakeries. Moon cakes are so yummy !!!😋
My family has been getting birthday cakes and pastries from Chinese bakeries for decades. The American ones are waaaaay too sweet.
Am not sure if asian bakeries would take off here you barely can find any non greek sweets from fresh bakeries ( not includes the bigger cities cuz they are basically made for tourists)
If its respectful to the cultures they borrow to make the Fused desserts i say good for them i hope they will thrive and people enjoy the sweets
Asian baked goods tend to be lighter on the palette than Western pastries. A lot of people opt for Asian cakes on their birthday for that reason, it doesn't leave an overly sweet aftertaste on your tongue after you eat it. There's a market for overly indulgent desserts too, but it's not something you can eat large portions of.
Hopefully, the pie is growing and has room for both the old-school Cantonese bakeries and the new-school Asian American bakeries. Both have their attractions and I enjoy both, as well as European, Black, Latinx, and Filipinx bakeries. ¡Diversity forever!
I wanna see Latin + Asian.. Imagin something crazy like flan and mochi creation.
You guys should really try durian crepe, it’s milder and enjoyable for noobs. It’s like a gateway to the actual durian.
These bakeries have existed in Hawaii for decades.
Shout out to Tokyo Premium Bakery taking over Denver rn 🔥🔥🔥
Nah…if we want something sweet it has to be dessert SWEET. Asian bakery items are not sweet enough. Every Latin culture in states have some form of empanada, savory filled pastry, or panadaria. There may be some trends that may quickly come and go but I don’t see it making as much of an impact as Asian foods and dishes they do best. I like Paris Baguette because of their sandwiches, but most times in an Asian bakery I’m disappointed. And most baked goods we like fresh baked, where some of these are made and displayed which most (mainly Americans) probably won’t like.
This is making me crave the Pandan Cream croissants 💚🥐🤤 from this place,,, in Melbourne, Australia. They also make Boba croissants and durian cream croissants!
New subject. Should the younger generation babies have two names. Should the new generation keep the Asian name going…
Tous les Jours is my kryptonite but we also know a self-taught Vietnamese woman who sells out of her house and makes THE best cupcakes and crepe cakes I have ever had!
BTW, Charlotte Asian food options are so much better than when you hung out with Jeremy Lin so please come back here. We can give you a list and put you in touch with all the Asian foodies around here. —From a white chick who caught yellow fever & married a Lao/Thai/Chinese guy😂
Hard to get past matcha anything but the tea itself
Light on the Sugar in Orlando is a cool Asian owned dessert shop. They have crepe cakes and cream puffs filled with ube cheesecake cream, matcha cream, tiramisu cream and other flavors. I also went to a Vietnamese night market in the Tampa area last night, and the vendor had cool things like ube and pandan mochi brownies, ube flan, ube tres leche, and some experimental stuff. I'm all for Asian desserts because they arent too sweet, and there are other components to enjoy like the textures.
You got this right, bros <3
no S sound with tous les jours LOL!!
6:32 oh so cute you guys spoke Cantonese 😍😍
no salted egg croissants and the coconut kueh kuehs among the new asian bakeries yet?
I say the asian style bakeries will be in bakeries in general.
There is 85 degrees.
French cooking method + Asian = Pho and Bahn Mi
