What to know
1. The Warner Bros Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter is an exhibition and not a theme park with rides.
2. The main experiences offered are the immersion in the Harry Potter universe and insights into the process of filmmaking.
3. The studio can be accessed by around 20-minute ride from Shinjuku on the Toei Subway Oedo line or Seibu line. It’s 2 to 3 minutes walk from Toshimaen station.
4. Tickets are reservation-only and are not sold at the entrance.
5. Ticket bookings can be made on the official site or via KLOOK, an online travel agency, which might have more available dates.
6 Arrive early for the tour to maximize your enjoyment and time spent at the studio.
7 A QR code is used for entry, and you should plan to arrive at least one hour before the start of your tour.
8. Wear COMFORTABLE SHOES. It’ll be a long walk.
9. Luggage can be stored for no charge at the entrance.
10. It was cold inside. Inside the building is well air conditioned. Make sure to have an extra layer in case it’s too cold.
11. Audio guides in English are available if ordered in advance.
12. A souvenir paper ticket can be obtained at the service desk.
13. Use the restroom before starting the tour as there are no facilities available for the first 30 minutes.
14. There are dining places and a souvenir shop in the lobby area that you can visit before and after your tour. There is a changing room.
15. You can choose to purchase and wear robes and wands like the Harry Potter characters for the tour.
16. The tour starts with a theater presentation and then proceeds to “The Great Hall” where you can start exploring at your own pace.
17. Ensure you have created an account using the QR code provided at the entrance for taking videos at certain locations.
18. BOOK MORNING TIME SLOTS
If possible, book the earliest time slots for a more comfortable experience with fewer people. Operation hours change depends on the date.
19. Price for food and drinks can be a bit higher than average theme parks.
20. Try to rewatch the movies before your visit to enhance your experience of the exhibits.
21. Expect a paid video session of riding on a broomstick. 2500 Yen to download.
22. The tour will also take you to the world of the London Ministry of Magic, Diagon Alley, and exhibits about film making.

Great video. Tokyo has more and more attractions. I've been to the UK Harry Potter tour and the Tokyo one here looks very nice.
I have a side question, I want to visit Ghibli Park when I go to Japan this year and tried to get the tickets online. I managed to get tickets to the warehouse but the other parts were sold out for international buyers. Is it possible to buy the tickets locally last minute and how so I do it? Thanks in advance 😊

Unfortunately, because we were there in May, we missed the opening of the Tokyo tour. But we did go to the tour in London and, I have to say, the Tokyo version looks like a slightly better experience.
