青森県 白神山地 十二湖の新緑ハイキング ( 青池・沸壺の池・王池 ) / Trekking in the fresh green of Lake Juniko ( Aomori, Japan )

十二湖（じゅうにこ）は、白神山地西麓に位置する湖沼群の総称で、自然豊かなブナの森に大小33の湖沼が点在します。
そのうち「青池」は、十二湖の中でもっとも人気が高い池で、誰もが、その神秘的なブルーに魅了されます。水面に当たる太陽光の角度で微妙に色彩が変化し、いつまでも見ていたくなる神秘の池です。

また「沸壷の池」はコバルトブルーの澄んだ水が湧く池で、「平成の名水百選」に選定されていて、青池と同様に神秘的な雰囲気に包まれた池です。
「王池」は豊かな緑に囲まれた比較的大きな池で、東湖盆と西湖盆の2つの池から形成されています。

十二湖は白神山地の中で最も気軽に行ける場所で、海岸から直線距離で約4kmとアクセスも容易で、標高も約200～250ｍと高低差が比較的少なく、主要な池を巡る散策コースを気軽に歩いて回れます。
全ての池を見られる「33湖巡り」コースもあり、地元のガイド同行で歩く事もできます。

十二湖は、江戸時代の大地震で沢がせき止められ、地盤が陥没して形成されたといわれています。また、高台から眺めると池が12個見えたことから、「十二湖」と名付けられたそうです。
十二湖には個性のある多様な池が密集しており、じっくりと時間をかけて散策するのもいいでしょう。

Lake Juniko is the general name for a group of lakes and marshes located in the western foothills of the Shirakami Mountains. 33 lakes and marshes of various sizes are scattered in the rich natural beech forest.

Among them, Aoike (Blue Pond) is the most popular of the twelve lakes, and everyone is fascinated by its mysterious blue color. The color of the pond changes slightly depending on the angle of the sunlight hitting the surface of the water, making it a mysterious pond that you will want to look at forever.

The Wakitsubo (Boiling Pot) Pond, with its clear cobalt blue water, has been selected as one of the “100 Best Waters of the Heisei Era.
Ohike (King Pond) is a relatively large pond surrounded by lush greenery, and consists of two basins: the East Lake Basin and the West Lake Basin.

Lake Juniko are the most easily accessible in the Shirakami Sanchi region, with a straight line distance of about 4 km from the coast and a relatively small elevation difference of about 200 to 250 meters, making it easy to walk around the main ponds.
There is also a “33 Lakes Tour” course that allows you to see all the lakes, and you can walk with a local guide.

Lake Juniko are said to have been formed when a major earthquake in the Edo period (1603-1868) dammed up a stream and the ground caved in. It is also said that the lake was named “Juniko (Twelve Lakes)” because twelve ponds could be seen when viewed from a hill.
Lake Juniko are densely packed with a variety of unique ponds, and it is a good idea to take the time to explore them.
