The Balmain bug, or butterfly fan lobster, is a species of slipper lobster. It lives in shallow waters around Australia and is the subject of small-scale fishery. It is a flattened, reddish brown animal, up to 23 cm (9 in) long and 14 cm (6 in) wide, with flattened antennae and no claws.

  1. Um this isn't a Balmain bug those have the eyes together near the front, not far apart out on the rim, this is a Moreton Bay bug or Flathead lobster, and for everyone going goofy over it moving, it's a lobster, not an Irish Setter, essentially a big bug. Do you cry when you swat a fly? Would you if it was a foot long? Or would you just get a big stick to smash it. At least this is something you can eat, and tasty at that.

  2. before you bitch at me i know this happens all day errryday around the world with various animals and living things and im cool with that to some degree but something wrong with you if you dont think its a little fucked up watching something get cut in half while its still alive if something was gonna eat me id like to be dead before they hack me to bits lol love the channel tho tis some good youtube"n.

  3. 1 – It’s dead so stop complaining, in case you didn’t notice the camera cut so the guy could kill it.
2 – It’s street food not a 5 star restaurant so for a street vendor he did good because that looks delicious.
3 – if you can’t handle watching this then don’t

  4. Yes, it felt great pain. Didn't you see how its legs flattened out each time it was cut into? It felt tortuous pain. Scientists and others only say it doesn't have the capability to feel pain to ease their conscience. I love lobster and know this is how preparing it is done, but it is hard to watch 😓

  5. it's cruel that we kill a lot of sea creatures like that. but it's sad.because they are all very good….😢
(if some of you are not happy with this comment.l'm so so sorry.)

  6. Suffice to say, the lady cutting (with scissors) and slicing (with knife) killed this bug twice! If your going to kill it whilst it's alive do it swiftly moron!

  7. They need pain to come up with better defensive evolutionary acts for their next life. Literally just thought about this..
