  1. I love this video and the old-timey background music. It's really fun and lighthearted and makes me want to come to Vietnam (I mean, if i didn't already really want to go). 🙂

  2. I was a in food service from 10 to 26. Someday I will pay out every tip that was ever given to me then. So yes $5 was a bit high…but worth it for the GREAT service we got. Only a week left in Vietnam and then the millionaire phase is over.

  3. Agreed. I'm sick of hipsters in the US who expect the tip BEFORE they make my sandwich – poorly.

I also bring "caramel-apple pops" to give to street food vendors when I take a photo of their work. Seems like a the right thing to do.

  4. So far so good. But I think they are being nice. The 19 year-old nice staff guys at our hotel seem to love them. Tootsie is a Chicago company so it feels like giving them part of home.

Are you in Vietnam at the moment?

  5. Nha Hang Ngon is a fab eatery in Hanoi, great service, popular with the locals. Lovely converted space between two buildings with potted palms. If you haven't been there yet, the address is 26 Tran Hung Dao. No, I'm back in Australia right now otherwise it would have been nice to touch base. Enjoy Vietnam.

  6. I've been around, just haven't commented recently. Busy as always. Things in the USA are going well, so don't believe everything you may hear on the international news. LOL.

  7. Hoi An's old town is full of nice budget restaurants. $5 for frog. $2 for beer.
How much did you pay in a street side eatery?
I had cao lao (local noodles supposedly made from water fetched out of ancient wells), white rose dumplings and chili crab. Saving the frog experience for another time!

  8. I must say I am becoming hooked on your channel !!…:-)
Also picking up lots of ideas on how to use my video cam in a more professional way.
I was in Ho Chi Minh City some months ago and there is a short clip on my channel of Ben Tanh Markets….and the traffic!!!!
