Today, I take you to the south east of Izu peninsula in Japan for a big dose of fresh air!
Jogasaki coast is located near the city of Ito and if you are into hiking, you are going to love it. You will be able to walk through beautiful forests while enjoying amazing sea views.
But the specific feature of Jogasaki coast is its volcanic rocks. Indeed, the whole coast was actually formed by a volcanic eruption of Mt Omuro 4,000 years ago! This explains the shapes of the rocks and their black colour. Walking on them feels like you are on the Moon or planet Mars. π
Make sure you don’t miss the suspension bridge at the end of the hiking trail! I hope you don’t have the fear of heights. lol
If you are visiting Ito city, make sure you keep half a day to walk along Jogasaki coast. π
