Hello, everyone! Despite the issues that I am having at the editing stage, I wanted to get this video out while it is still relevant.
What is Loft? Stylized as LoFT, the store is considered to be one of the big lifestyle stores of Japan. But what is a lifestyle store? I guess it can be described like a Zellers or Sears store, but way better. They are a one stop shop where you can buy almost everything from bedding, hygiene and personal care products, household tools, and hobby supplies. Tokyu Hands is probably their biggest competitor in Japan.
It was announced on the Loft Twitter page back on April 8 that the location in Sakae, the big five floor location of Nagoya will be closing by June 30. Press details below:

I took the footage featured in this video on May 1. I incorrectly said in the video that the store would be closing “this month”, but this statement becomes accurate due to the time of posting now. Loft is scheduled to close on June 30, 2023, so make sure to stop by to check it out to get in on the sales and the memories before the closure. It should go without saying that the selections will vary a lot from what is shown in the video.
14:12. I cited here that the closure of Loft is going to date my #MusicTravelFans video. What does that mean? It means that the directions that I provided to the venue of that video are going to become out of date due to the impending closure.
Technical issues:
Due to storage issues, I was unable to export the video at the full 4K format. It was also quite an ordeal to blur out the patrons who appear in the background of my video to make it compliant with the local privacy laws in Japan. I was surprised to learn that the YouTube Studio Editor actually has a maximum number of blur layers that can be applied to a video. I had to download it and reupload it in order to circumvent the cap. Even then, the filters seem to have a mind of their own, and end up in random places after processing.
Rather than continue to fight with this and push for perfection, I think the battle is moot because of the resolution of this version anyway. I can fix the issues for the 4K release.
Many thanks to The Dishwasher Brothers at @LiWuEntertainment for continuing to allow me to use their music in the background of my video releases. The featured background music is their instrumental cover of If Life is So Short from @TheMoffattsOfficial / @MusicTravelLove / @davemoffattmusic.
If anyone is interested, I have more footage from this visit where I went through the old catalogue and press archives at the memorial display. I can also make a follow up trip to the store to show what deals are left.

Ah, I was wondering why it seemed like your music was trying to interrupt you at parts. You were trying to exclude any copyrighted music during those parts, right?
This place reminds me a little bit of one of the mall-end department stores here, I don't remember whether it was Sears, or The Bay, or whatever else it could have been, but there were criss-crossing escalators just like you're showing near the beginning there.
It's been such a long time since I've been to a department store I've been having vivid dreams about walking around in them.
