Life in a remote anchorage has a very particular rhythm. One where the predictable problems of normal life completely disappear and where very different problems can consume you if your not careful. And after living in a marina for the past 8 months we’ve finally cast the lines and are about to say goodbye to Malta and set sail for the massive cruising grounds of Greece and Turkey.
But before we head out for distant shores we are taking a few weeks to acclimate ourselves to our new life out in nature as well as to come up with solutions to the particular challenges of living outside of civilization.

  1. I always love watching you guys, the place your in now is magical. Have a great time guys and thank you!!

  2. This was probably my favorite video of yours ever! It really had EVERYTHING! I even enjoyed the promo! Jordan could be a professional promo guy! Issa is so sweet! I watched it twice! 🙂

  3. Great Episode. Really impressed with the update on all the systems you have installed. Great Work. Thanks

  4. Loved the nature of this episode. Totally. B. R. A. V. O., Captain for the ending soliloquy. Life is good.🎉 🎉 See you next time.✨ 🌊 💨 ⛵️ 🏝️ 👙 🌞 ✨

  5. If the water is warm enough, have you thought about acclimating Isa to the water. Just enough that she's comfortable and doesn't cry — or maybe even tries to swim a little. If you live on a boat its good to make your children water safe too

Watching you read to Isabella reminded me of when my mother used to read to me. And how surprised i was when i started to realize that her words had something to do with those black shapes on the pages. That's when i started to learn to read.
Of course Chinese is still shapes on a page to me.

  6. As you were talking about electric consumption i had a thought. What about using the Anti-Roll device to make more electricity? There's energy to be captured.

Actually all electricity (including nuclear — solar is the only exception) is produced by moving a magnet past a wire.
Along the line of that roll device, there must be some way to harness your rocking motion and convert it directly into electricity. Handing magnets/wires or rolling them. Some motion that could move any magnet past any coil of wires.

Magnets sliding inside coils of wires?

  7. I'm starting to get the feeling that I'm watching the Truman show when these little promotional items pop-up in the story line….

  8. I’ve never seen the Magma Flopper Stopper , I follow several sailing channels and this was the first time for the Flopper a stopper. Pretty cool device..

  9. Pro Tip: Last trip to Hawaii I was shown a trick by a dive master on how to put on swim fins while in the water instead of trying to look like a fool wadling towards the water backwards or forwards with them on. Simply roll the back of the fins down all the way, once in the water your feet will slip right in easy…just reach down and flip the back up & you are done!
Great video as always…such a beautiful location.

  10. Such a wonderful way to live, and hopefully well worth all the hard work you put in. You do such a great job of putting these videos together for us to enjoy! Thank you!

  11. Jordan you did risk alot diving in that blue hole. It has taken many lives including this week . Somebodh should have warned you. However, I am glad you enjoyed your stay on my island. Jave a safe journey on your next trip. Au revior

  12. Off grid is independence … living in the city they tax you so much … our state is working on this problem and working on relief for everyone … so i just love your independence and adventurous life style … you both are heroes of mine …
    😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊….

  13. Have you tried Dakota Lithium-Ion batteries? They are pretty expensive, but I know of a lot of fisherman that can run a vast amount of electronics for days using them. Plus, there environmentally friendly and half the weight.

  14. It's nice to see how all your hard work and expense in getting to become virtually fully capable of living off grid has finally come together so nicely. Now you just need to figure out how to make your own food. Nice video and great cinematography too.

  15. Saw you guys having coffee on your yacht this morning as we passed on the Three Cities ferry.
Probably too late, but if you ever need a hand please feel free to reach out. We live nearby in Three Cities

  16. Having such a great time watching your family adventures! At my house I am the sailor and my wife is the Mom, with elder son (27) being the 1st mate and younger son (25) being 2nd mate … when we sail, which has become pretty infrequent. You guys are doing such a great job and we are looking firward to watching Isa grow and get her sea legs!

  17. Oso’s ears flying in the front of the dingy was my fav part of the video 😅

  18. Can’t say enough times how visible your growth and maturity have been since I started watching back when you were in Panama… as individuals, a couple, sailors, liveaboards, filmmakers, and now as a family. A truly impressive progression, stepping up for yourselves and each other through all the inner and outer challenges, to become so solid and accomplished. Perseverance, determination, humility, and sheer will are all brilliantly shining out. Well done…Isa is one lucky girl to grow up in the light of the life you’ve created. 💕

  19. As a dad of two young ones I cant help but get nervous seeing your daughter in a carseat/stroller on the dingy. I'm sure you know but if she is strapped into that and it goes overboard…the prognosis is not good. I'm sure you are careful, but accidents can happen. I feel that having her strapped to your body would be safer.

  20. Big questions…. would it be better to add a couple of portable solar panels to increase your input to your system, rather than running the motor? Or, even to get a little Honda generator, rather than putting hours on your boat motor? (Doesn't hours on the motor lower the value of your boat… running it for 45 minutes a day seems like it would eventually eat into the life of a motor that would be a pain to pull, rather than just replacing a small cheap generator. Just my thought…(I also don't understand enough about it all to know why people don't figure out a way to use their dinghy motor to recharge their batteries…because that is another motor that is easily replaceable…but I have never seen that done.)
Issa is doing so well and totally seems to have her sea legs!!! Beautiful girl!!
