Keep in mind the digital card cannot be loaded with a foreign VISA card due to security restrictions. MasterCard/ AMEX will work tho

A few quick question (I already bought online a blank Suica): can I convert it to a "named Suica" in machines or ar a counter or it will never be possible?
Can I recharge a Suica also in the International Airports (Narita and Haneda) or the machines there are just for the "Welcome Suica" alone? I Have seen there should be at least a few "Pocket-Change Machines" in the airports…
Finally a question/proposition/request: is there an affordable (and working) Japanese-based Android smartphone that one (who has intention to travel "back and forth" to/from Japan in the next years) could buy to use for services (such as electronic IC cards and other) once there?
i have a feeling taking the IC card home as a souvenir impacted the chip shortage. no one wanted to return them for their deposit back lol i for one contributed. Kept my Pasmo and Icoca card as if they are like collecticbles. i will say i have plans to visit soon so i can reuse them so i feel less bad. would like to add a Kitaca card to my collection though
Hello- I’ve had my suica for 6yrs as I travel to Japan yearly and I also have my card in my wallet app. Will i still be able to use it as I noticed after this video I tried loading money to my card as I always do but it’s no longer letting me?

Good thing I already traveled to Japan and arrived back a few weeks ago. I was in Haneda and bought the Monorail Suica which I kept for future travels.
So if you buy the registered Suica card at Narita, is it functional in Hokkaido and Aomori and Osaka also? For trains and convenience stores? We will be traveling just over a month by bike so lots of conbinis and probably vending machines. You have to buy a separate ticket for the train to ueno correct? The Keisei one. Thank you!

I have an Android and have my registered name Suica card from 2018. Prefer physical card since it's easier to get my card fixed if it stops working from the station attendant in case I accidentally didn't tap out properly at the gate like when transferring from Shinkansen gate to another line.

BTW/FYI: ICOCA should be pronounced as “ekoka” and it has a double meaning; the hidden one is “let’s go” in Kansai accent, where ICOCA card is available.

Japan wants to limit "bargain" tourism, and needs foreigners names/info to track where they go.

Get the Iphone app connected to your ID
OR
Get a registered Suica.
