Many cities worldwide may seem appealing to move to on the surface but have some significant downsides that make them dangerous tourist destinations. This video discusses 10 cities that you may want to avoid moving to.

Cleveland, Ohio, has a high cost of living relative to the average salary in the city. Rent and home prices are above the national average. The city also has a high rate of poverty and violent crime. For these reasons, Cleveland may not be the most desirable dangerous tourist destination place to move to.

Johannesburg, South Africa, is an affordable city with nice weather, but it struggles with high crime, especially violent crime in poor neighborhoods. Traffic congestion and lack of public transit are also major issues. These factors contribute to Johannesburg being an unpleasant, dangerous tourist destination place to live for many.

Frankfurt, Germany, seems appealing as it is a developed country. However, the high cost of living, high taxes, and social barriers to making friends as an ex-pat may make Frankfurt a difficult, dangerous tourist destination to call home. The culture greatly favors speaking German, and Germans tend to be less open toward newcomers.

Tokyo, Japan, is an exciting, fast-paced city, but the high cost of living, crowded conditions, tight work-life balance, and intense pressure on children in schools are significant downsides for families and those seeking a balanced lifestyle. Making friends can also be challenging in this dangerous tourist destination.

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, struggles with economic inequality, lack of infrastructure in poor areas, high crime, difficulty finding housing and jobs as an ex-pat, traffic, and pollution. These factors make Rio a hard, dangerous tourist destination place to live despite its vibrant culture.

London, Ontario, has its positives, like good schools and affordable housing. However, it also has significant traffic congestion, lack of public services relative to high taxes paid, difficulty finding well-paying work, and high housing prices. Overall, London may face challenges accommodating its fast population growth, making it a difficult, dangerous tourist destination.

North Korea’s capital Pyongyang is nearly impossible for outsiders to move to and live in freely. The city is tightly controlled by the government and lacks amenities that most would consider essential. Only party loyalists are allowed to live in this dangerous tourist destination.

Mexico City faces issues like frequent power outages, lack of consistent access to utilities, poorly constructed housing, high crime, police corruption, noise pollution, and traffic. Although an exciting city, these downsides would make living there challenging and mark it as a dangerous tourist destination for many.

Mumbai, India, struggles with extreme costs of living, intense competition for jobs, horrendous traffic, poverty, crime, and lack of sanitation in many areas. Although a cultural and economic hub, Mumbai’s challenges lead to a very difficult life for most residents in this dangerous tourist destination.

Each of these cities has its own unique dangers and challenges that make them unsuitable for comfortable living. So, before you start packing your bags, make sure to do your research and avoid these 10 dangerous tourist destinations at all costs.

  1. I will completely disagree about your thoughts about Tokyo. It's the worlds biggest city and is always in the top 5 safest cities in the world! It's the only city that I have ever been to that I wasn't worried about my safety.

  2. The french full work week is 35 hours, I work later in the evening in London than I did whilst working in France. People usually leave work between 4:30 PM and 5:00 PM
