    My mum was eight years old when the war started, and my dad a little older, both families lived just up the road from the war museum, Kennington underground station was almost a second home to my mum, and the Oval was my dad's "local", before she was evacuated, when an air raid warning sounded they would run like hell to get in there, sometimes it would be full, and they would all run down to the Oval station.
    I was born just opposite the war museum, in a building that was originally Lambeth workhouse, and was converted for use as a hospital after they closed them all down.
    As kids we spent a lot of time in the museum, i can't tell you how much the place has changed over the years.
    Thank you for the visit, i really enjoyed it.

    Glad you visited here Sinead i went there a few years ago and loved it! it looks like they have added some new exhibits so will have to return sometime! when its quiet!
