Kyushu Island, Japan: Kumamoto to Kagoshima or K-to-K-on-K

Another day filled with public transportation to get from point A to point B – still on Kyushu Island. Riding on any of Japan’s bullet trains or Shinkasen’s (the Japanese word for “bullet train”) is a delight; plenty of leg space, clean, fast and quiet.

But after hours of on and off, it’s no wonder Marine Steve and I barely had enough energy to chow down dinner. Welcome now to Kagoshima which became one of our favorite places on Kyushu.
