I’ve heard Osaka often referred to as “The Kitchen of Japan”. That certainly is a ringing endorsement and I couldn’t resist to try out all the foods and dishes Osaka has to offer. But, this time I wasn’t going at it alone, I’ve booked a food tour to see if I can get some local advice. Thanks to Meg, our culinary guide for this adventure, we set off to tour Osaka’s culture and food scenes.

From temples and shrines, to the evening food markets, we had wonderful activity filled evening exploring Osaka’s recommended Okonomiyaki, Kushikatsu and Okonomiyaki spots! We ended the tour in Osaka’s famous Dotonbori Area. And while the tour was over and our appetites full, there was so much more to explore and I can’t wait to explore together.

More food destinations with signs tempting you with the giant crab and globes of Takoyaki, I quickly gave in….a plate of Takoyaki, a few skewers of Yakitori, and some dessert, Dotonbori is quite a lively place to visit!
