  1. Enjoy the show being back.
I know you love Japan, but that's simply not an option for a lot of Americans.
I would think you'd be more aware about how running down Walt Disney World could build resent.🤷‍♂️

  2. It was pointed out that the Closing of the Star Cruiser announcement of the removing of shows off of D+ happen during the premier of Indiana Jones. It was Iger telling Kennedy that she failed him for the last time.

  3. A great discussion about the Galactic Star Cruiser. Tom, during the conversation you jokingly made a comment about telling kids that "Han Solo is dead" implying they (kids) and we (adults) should move on and accept these new Star Wars characters. Although this was clearly a joke, it is essentially what Disney/Lucas Films/Marvel is telling consumers about the original timeless characters…This marketing concept (however or wherever it started) is nuts and will fail long term. Maleficent (dragon) was mortally wounded at the end of Sleeping Beauty, but her name, image and likeness are used to make money all over Disney properties…(and does). The same could be true for the villains and heroes of the Star Wars/Marvel universes. The consumer is speaking with their pocketbooks— will Disney/Lucas Films/Marvel listen?

  4. I hope Mel Brooks sees this, and is looking for a loophole in his "no merch" agreement with George Lucas.

  5. Hilarious show, great discussion tonight. So happy this dumb show is back. Tonight's discussion made me think of how Star Wars is difficult property to bring into theme parks. TWDC clearly wanted to copy as much of Universal's Wizarding World as possible. So much of Disney's theme park adaptations of Star Wars are built on the blueprints of Wizarding World. However, Harry Potter is a much easier franchise to adapt due to its few major set pieces (Hogwarts, Hogsmeade, Ministry of Magic); its one, cohesive timeline; easily consumable and marketable IP such as Houses and Wizarding Gear, etc. Harry Potter is a brand ready to sell you products to enter its world. Star Wars has an anti-consumer ethos.

  6. Who hurt Tom? why does he take it out on Universal? They already changed the industry with Wizarding world. And when it came time to add a new ride, it wasn't Newts Magical Creatures, it was Hagrid. Also the best of the Nintendo rides (donkey kong mine cart coaster) will be in ORLANDOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

  7. They priced most people out, pure and simple. The crossover of people who had the 6k to spare, who also would spend that on 2 days Star Wars larping, is a tiny crossover. Going to Disney at all has become outlandishly pricey for most, which may be a contributing factor to the increase in brawling – the pressure to have a good time and make the cost worthwhile, is immense.

Never mind that this was all stuff that was supposed to be in Galaxy's Edge to begin with, and they (Chapek) moved the goalposts when they realised the guests were going to be getting good value for money…

  8. Jason was so wrong about so many things tonight, and yet he still wanted to talk more than anybody else.😕

  9. LARPer's have been trying to get a Disney quality experience for years, and this failure has destroyed that dream.

  10. Let's build a Star Wars land and hotel where most of the original heroes and villains are dead…great idea

  11. 2:24:42 this point here is probably the most accurate because my family was looking at things instead we could do at the same price and have a longer experience doing

  12. What? How come Nick gets a wdwnt logo on his podium but Piano doesn't get one for his piano

  13. In the UK, families already save for two years to pay thousands to go to WDW. There is no way financially the majority could afford what looks as ridiculous prices for the Star Wars hotel

  14. This was the BEST panel discussion! I'm still saying SC comes back in some form 🤞🏻. Welcome back!

  15. Jill is on the right track. The Galactic Star Cruiser should’ve been a wing of a larger Star Wars Hotel. You have a main tower that functions as a regular hotel and a wing that works as the immersive experience. In story the Hotel would be where you stay before you embark on the “cruise ship.” Once you cross the threshold everything is totally immersive

  16. I love that Spaceballs commercial!
Since it is my favourite parody movie of all time, I think it would be awesome if Disney would purchase and add it to Disney+, and finally make it's long awaited sequel.

  17. 2:22:35 so true! I was excited when I thought it was just a themed hotel! I was excited when I found out it was immersive, but then came the price😢.
