North Japan’s Gorgeous Castle 🌸🇯🇵 | Hirosaki Castle, Aomori

Hirosaki Castle (弘前城), one of Japan’s most beautiful and iconic castle, was originally built in 1611 by the lord of the Tsugaru clan. It was struck by lightning and burnt down just 16 years later, but the current structure was rebuilt in 1811.

This castle is one of the original castles that lasted past the samurai era and two world wars. With the entrance ticket, you can enter the castle to view the interior.

It is also situated in a park with over 2000 cherry blossom trees, making it an incredible spot for viewing cherry blossoms in spring! I was able to catch the last of it in this video.

Located in Aomori, the northernmost prefecture of mainland Japan.
