Today we’re sharing our eventful ferry ride from Fukuoka, Japan to Busan, South Korea. When booking our Japan trip, it was way cheaper to fly home from Seoul than from Tokyo, so we decided to end our trip with a few days in Busan and Seoul. Rather than flying from the south of Japan to Korea, we opted to try a rare international mode of transport: hopping on a boat!
This was only our fourth time ever taking an international boat ride although we’ve been to 100 countries, which speaks to how rare this mode of transport is between countries!
We are Oskar and Dan, and we believe that anyone regardless who they are deserves to live their wildest dreams! For the past eight years that we’ve been together, we’ve continued pushing boundaries by traveling and living all across the world👨🏼🤝👨🏻 In 2022, we reached a huge milestone by visiting 100 countries and we’re now on a mission to keep sharing our journey and inspiring you to chase your dreams🗺

Japan was country 38🇯🇵
South Korea was country 40🇰🇷
(Both first visited in 2018)
We started our trip in the Keihanshin region, which is Japan’s second largest metropolitan area after Tokyo, made up of the cities Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto, Nara, and other smaller ones. After eight days around this region, we hopped on the Shinkansen bullet train twice, first to Hiroshima and then to Fukuoka. From there, we took a boat to Busan, South Korea (we were SO excited about this ferry ride between Japan and Korea!) before catching a train to Seoul and flying home from there!
Thank you for watching!🙏😍

As always guys, THANK YOU and see you around the world🌍❤
♥️
The "shell" seats looks really cool though it looks pretty bulky from first impression.
🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲❤❤
Thanks for an interesting chapter. Enjoy your time in Busan. Much love from South Africa ❤
I just did the ferry between Helsinki and Tallinn yesterday. It was soooo smooth. I find sea sickness to be one of the worst experiences, so I feel so bad for yours on this trip.
Oskar is getting a belly on him😮 Is he pregnant 😊
5:25 goddamn that was a long time ago
Hey Boys,OMG I empathise with you,I love the idea of being out on the water,I love island hopping round the Agean & spent 2 months sailing along the whole coast of Oman assisting a cartographer when I was 19.
But,I can remember the days of going to France from England by ferry! The channel can be surprisingly rough & though it was a way cheaper option than flying there were trips where I wanted to die,the last one I took no one could stand up & I think everyone must have thrown up!
The concept of first class didn't exist, the Japanese definitely know how to do it in style(colour choice?).
Looking forward to your next video as ever; very best wishes to you&yours1❤️💯💙💙👌👋⭐️'s💯✌️
Guys, you look a little worse for the wear.
Thanks for showing the lovely ferry. Those in the Canaries are also good as are the Norwegian.
Wow..!!
wow, they gave you free motion sickness medication?!?! they think of everything!… too bad you guys still got sick😅
Welcome to KOREA 😊
Just awesome views 🤩 & the food looks so,so,so good!!! Just looking at the footage of the boat rocking was making me sick, you poor guys, but u made it🎉 Cant wait for the next adventure 🤟
Next time try Kinshasha-Brazaville 😊
Wow looks fun. Enjoy it. I travel through ur eyes lovely. Thanks for sharing Dan and Oscar. Love it
When you mentioned having traveled between two countries by boat before, I realised, "Oh, I've never done that before. I should look into trying that in the future." Towards the end of the video, "Maybe not." 😁 Sorry to hear you both go so sick though. I hope the rest of your trip was smooth sailing (no pun intended). 🙂
Such a pleasure to follow you guys.
TWO HEARTY TRAVELERS IN ALL CONDITIONS . BRAVO !!!!
14:44 – Det finns gott om fraktlinjer mellan Estland och Finland! 😍
Oskar's stubble looks sharper than my future 🧔♂
Thank you so much for this video! I was born and raised in Busan, but now I live in the US. Seeing my hometown like this made me tear up and made me realize how much I miss it! 🥲
I have been dreaming of going to Japan for a long time now. Every year I look up flights but get intimidated by the fact that I can't even read their language. However, one of these years I have to just get over myself. It seems to be very much worth a visit. By the way, I have never been a friend of ferry boats. I have more faith in planes than those boats.
Next time when you get sea sick, go to the middle of the ship and go outside this will help. You were on the front of the ship which is the worst place to be
Free sea sickness tablets – the first warning sign of what to expect on the boat 😅
Jasmine Masters jump scare
I just got back from this ferry a week ago 😊 1st class
Loved it ❤
I sat at the very front but i showed up an hour and half early 😊
You poor boys. Sea 🤢 sick no fun. ❤🌈
Wow COOL VIDEO! Fukuoka is chill. Jazzy turtles! I think that lady wants to taste your tofu. Interesting shoe washing machine … ?!?!
I appreciate that you show new ways of traveling even if it wasn’t smooth sailing to Busan. So sorry about your seasickness.
The Queen Beetle is big!. I think I would enjoy it because I am always up for a long ferry ride.
Thank you so much for making such compliments on Japan. Hope you two visit us again sometime soon. Have a great trip.
Turtle content always appreciated!
welcome to korea
Please show us a pleasant trip to Busan^^~😃
Did you have your passports stamped when entering South Korea via Busan? I would love to get that stamp.
Just in case you did not know, Y5 coins are considered good luck, because of the way they are pronounced: "Goen", which also means a new friendship (there is no literal English translation so this is the best description I could think of).
That's why in many gift shops they sell key chains with 5Y coin hanging, as a sign of being connected with each other.
However, in reality these coins are so useless as most vending machines don't accept them as they are too small in denomination 🙄
It was like watching one of those 'Inspired by true events' movies when you know something bad is going to happen while the characters are so happy and excited 😀. I get seasick A LOT so I am definitely not going to take that ferry. I took an international ferry only a few times. From HKG to Macau (pointless now that there's a bridge) and from Sardinia to Corsica (100% worth it), and from France to the UK back in the 90s.
Vegan food and walking for hours and hours and hours. Our travels exactly!
I so understand being sea sick!
Your videos are always so well edited! Yes, I think the further south in Japan that you go, the more relaxed and informal people are. (I used to live in Yamaguchi). My mom is Swedish (from Malmo) and I can understand your Swedish. I used to love the ferry between Copenhagen and Malmo. But I guess with the bridge, probably no more ferry.
U guys are hilarious, thanks for sharing this! I literally get seasick by just watching the vlog…lol
