For me the first don't is…don't visit…..
That’s so true! I grew up in California from ages 2-15 and never heard anyone call it Cali. I never called the state Cali. It wasn’t until I moved to Missouri when I heard someone reference it as Cali. And they claimed they lived in California.
Please don't hug the Redwoods. You will be trampling on the roots. Do enjoy them and take a deep breath of clean air.
Visited San Francisco and Los Angeles six months ago and I gotta say, driving is hell. Traffic everywhere we went but I also got to drive across the Golden Gate Bridge, which was exciting as it was my first time doing so
Don't forget all the Spanish colonial styled old buildings in Southern California. The history between California and the Baja California in Mexico is a very long one.
San Diego old downtown clearly feels like old Spanish European.
1:08 Wait, your telling me that there's coastline up the entire coast?
I’ve lived in Northern California since the early 1980s. Nobody here says, “NorCal”. It’s like calling San Francisco “Frisco”. On the other hand, it’s okay to say Berserkly instead of Berkeley, the whackiest place on Earth. And like others have said, beware of hypodermic needles on the beaches in Santa Cruz.
For SF you need to dress for three seasons (not winter). I lived out y the Sunset District, and my three highest heating bills were Jan, Feb, and August.
2:15 basically Australia with their abbreviations.
Yes! I am a Californian.
In n Out is trash. McD's has a better burger.
7:53 best moment of this channel. Wait 4 it
Parkfield, CA (Central Valley) has more earthquakes daily than any other place in CA
Learn basic Spanish please. You will get approached in Spanish in Los Angeles -San Diego.
'hella' is mostly central CA. As a San Diego native, I'd never heard it until I met people from the central valley when I was in university.
4:14 plastic bags are $0.10. It's meant to be a deterrent rather than a penalty. A way to nudge people into more sustainable practices.
Don't worry, no one will look at you twice if you get them. And the bags are really durable, you could probably reuse one 50 times if you'd like. (I don't. I can't be bothered.)
5:12 I live in Carlsbad. There at least 2 houses that have their own backyard vineyards.
7:32 The only time LA isn't bogged down bt traffic is about 3AM.
8:19 Tip for drivers: for unmarked 2 way roads, the speed limit is 55mph.. CHP don't take no shit. In the cities you can fudge things, but the more rural you get, the less leeway you're given.
Just my experience, fwiw.
9:26 Fern Canyon!
I've been there, great place to visit.
Im from San Diego and I say Cali all the time
In n out fries are horrible
In n out fries are horrible
2:50 especially in the Bay Area you’ll hear some things even if you’re from the USA you might not understand.
Me who’s been living in CA for my whole life —earthquake happens …
Me : bro can you chill let me enjoy my sleep
I lived in California for over 20 years and when people refer it as "Cali" it makes my skin crawl. I have NEVER heard a Californian refer to it as "Cali". Grrr!
Stop! Black folks say Cali I am born and raised most of my life I have lived in Cali and we say Cali who tf says California besides white people? And I even know white people who say cali. 😂
My tip as a native Californian: don't drive between the hours of 6 am and 9 pm unless you want to be stuck in horrendous traffic. :o)
🙂 this video was fun! From a born and raised in San Francisco native
How are you going to leave out Central California. Home of Yosemite national park, Sequoia national park.
I already dissed in-and-out Burger to Californians. 😬
California is great tbh love the scenery, skyscrapers, redwoods, beaches, mountains. It's all here it's awesome.
I went to San Francisco/San Jose in 2018 for my birthday in September, since my husband's sibling lives there. It was so chilly walking on the Golden Gate Bridge and definitely not able to swim. Now going to LA/Bakersfield next month so helpful video.
"Hella" is in the Oxford Dictiony, so suck it SoCal. Ok, he's right, don't call it Frisco because we will jump on you like a flea on a dog's backside. Frisco is in Texas. Only person who can call it Frisco is Otis Redding "(Sittin' On) the Dock of the Bay". However, if you call San Fran and some one makes noise, they are just being anal. If you say we're going to "The City", everyone will know what you mean. There is LA County and city. Visit the Livermore Valley Wine area, we got some great wines. We get tremors all the time and most of them we don't feel. Not all of us eat kale, granola and wear sandals. The weather in California is awesome. However, San Francisco is freezing in August with the fog. If you love nature, please visit the Redwoods and Sequoia National Park before they wither away.
Great job though.
Only lizard ppl live in so cal
Lol I’ve lived in California for 12 years and I say San Fran 😅 I also prefer 5 guys over In-N-Out bc I grew up on the east coast.
Great video and pretty accurate overall. The only thing that really makes all of California "one place" is the ever- prevalent woke ignorance….oh ya…and all the bums and junkies. All that aside, California really is a great place to visit (just not to live unless you have tons of $$$ and just don't care). Also, yes…San Diego is probably the best place to visit if you have to pick just one area.
If you only have a week, it's best to choose either NorCal or SoCal, as the considerable distance between them can make covering both regions quite exhausting.
In the NorCal wonderland, you'll find not only the enchanting city of San Francisco, but also the mesmerizing Monterey, the bewitching beaches of Santa Cruz, and the vibrant vibes of San Jose.
Who made you the California police? Don’t listen to this man. We call it Cali and we call San Francisco by many names. We are all connected here as true Californios because this was Mexico. We may call San Francisco, The City, Frisco, SF, Yerba Buena, San Pancho or The Panch.
