Atami has long been a popular hot spring resort in Japan.
It is also a resort travel destination that can be reached from Tokyo by 45 steps on the Shinkansen.
This time, we stayed at a slightly more expensive hot spring inn and enjoyed meals and a room with an open-air bath.
