United Trip Report flying from Honolulu to San Francisco onboard one of the United Boeing 777 on a lovely winter afternoon.
An amazing flight from Honolulu to San Francisco onboard the United Airlines Boeing 777-200ER. This was my first time flying from Honolulu and I must say that I was impressed. I watched some Trip Reports before this flight and I knew more or less what to expect. Well, it was more than excellent. The views of Honolulu on takeoff and the island were some of the best I ever had.
But if I would have to highlight something above everything that would be Honolulu airport itself. I promise that I’ve never seen something like this. I loved the huge amount of open-air spaces that the airport has, offering plenty of views of the apron. It’s a very recognizable airport; when you are at Honolulu airport you know that you are in Hawaii.
About the onboard service, United only offers a complimentary small snack (pretzels or 2 biscuits) and a drink on this flight. However, United has a buy-onboard menu, with not so many options, but those available are great. I decided to buy the Chicken Salad and the Cheese-Bacon Burger. They both were amazing. Fresh and tasty. I wonder why United is the only airline offering something like this… the plane wasn’t full and the catering for purchase was sold out.
Talking about the route, we took off from Honolulu airport heading to the city and the mountains. Following the standard departure, we made an immediate right turn to fly in parallel to the coastline, which gave us some perfect views of Honolulu and the rest of the island. It lasted just for some minutes, but the views during those were perfect.
We left Hawaii behind us and flew directly to San Francisco. Before getting to SFO, and when still on cruise, we enjoyed a really nice Sunset over the Pacific Ocean. Already in the night, we flew through an area of intense turbulence that made us descent to not approach the limits of the plane. We landed at San Francisco airport, already in the night, after an amazing approach over the city and the Golden Gate Bridge.
Once at the gate, the airbridges didn’t work, o we had to wait for almost 40 minutes until they fixed them and we could disembark.
Now it’s your turn!
Have you ever flown with United? How was the experience? Which model did you fly? Have you ever flown on a Boeing 777? Have you ever been in Honolulu? Maybe in San Francisco? What do you think about the onboard service? Should the other airlines copy the United catering service?
Lots of things to talk about! Read you all in the comments!

Aren't they going to retrofit the economy class and keep first class the same on the aircraft u flew on? I thought I saw it in another video.
Nice, nice, very nice! I am enjoying these videos from the US. I love SFO so much. As a child I was playing PC game Flight Unlimited II. Do you anybody remember? 😁😁😁 That is from this area around SFO and other airports like Oackland… etc.
Hermoso video y muy buena la explicacion de como encienden los motores , felicitaciones por el canal , a la espera del proximo , saludos desde Argentina
If the apu was inop, it wouldn’t fly etops
I'm glad your flight on a 23 year old 777 equiped with Pratt & Whitney engines that have a propensity for uncontained failures was a safe one.
You got a rare treat to land on the 19's. I have flown into and out of SFO dozens of times over the years and only have had that happen 1 time. SFO always features a beautiful arrival and departure, the scenery is awesome.
It’s really cool to see that HLN airport has outdoor space on the airside. What “APU” stands for is “Auxiliary Power Unit”. You can hear those words & abbreviation on the movie, Sully.
N210UA-N215UA are not ERs
Yeah the plane is configured for domestic flights but America is a huge country. A 777 without IFE is not acceptable.
I like the open spaces of the Hawaii terminal. Interesting concept.

Amazing video! The views on departure from HNL are simply breathtaking! 🤩

The aircraft at 12:37 is N733KA, Boeing 737-800, KaiserAir Inc.
I love your video A question: how do you have the means to make the flights and how do you do according to the hours of work to be able to do so many trip reports? Thank you for your answer one of your fans
This is why I choose Hawaiian Airlines for these transoceanic flights. They offer a free meal. Inter island flights on the other hand just give you a free pocket-sized guava juice.
El B 737 es Kaiser Air/Hawaii Shuttle una aerolinea charter
I think Atlas Air always use at least a passengers B744 😉
Do away with the comments. Kind of annoying.
