😀 A BIT ABOUT US:
We’re Marianne & Chris, a happily married couple from the UK. Marianne is a living kidney donor to her best friend, and realising that life was for living and never really knowing what’s round the corner – we decided to fulfil our dream of travelling full time.

So in March 2018 after the kids had left home, we sold our belongings, rented our house and moved into our campervan called Trudy. We set off to see the world and after vanlifing around Ireland and Europe, we grabbed our backpacks and spent 5 months exploring Central America.

Feeling like we needed a challenge, we planned the ultimate van life adventure! In Jan 2020 set off to drive around the World from UK to UK. But after arriving in Turkey, covid caught up with us and closed the borders, so we had a wonderful 18 months exploring this special country. Realising we were not going to be able to head further East, we decided to do a handbrake turn and go the other way and shipped our van to the USA.

We hope you enjoy coming with us, and we’ll continue to share our real adventures and hope you feel inspire to step out of your comfort zone and try something new.

  1. You did it!! As we knew you would. The three amigos are reunited and we are all ready and waiting for the next of this adventure! Love you! Ps: I can’t get over Mariannes posh telephone voice in the past couple of episodes and her polite laugh. Definitely not the dirty raucous laugh we all know and love 😂😂

  2. I hope you know by now you can shop at convenience stores 7-11 for very good prepared food (unlike the US).

  3. WOW- Mt. Fuji was right in front of the van! So much beauty already‼️👍😊So thankful you are taking us along on your journey‼️

  4. I can feel your excitement from here. You inspire me to follow my dreams and ship a camper from Australia back to Britain and then do Europe. Dreams can come true.

  5. Huge thanks to Yoshi & Huge thanks to Jackery UK. Trudy is a legend as always 🧿 Tekerinize taş değmesin 🇹🇷❤️🇬🇧

  6. This is so cool to see you driving a Uk vehicle in Japan. Cant wait for your adventures. Be sure to learn what the emergency sirens mean. But have fun. safe travels. cheers cheryl from australia

  7. Welcome to Japan!
I am so happy that your van arrived here. Now your jorney started in Japan. If you are stopping at Osaka, I will be very happy to guide you in Osaka and Kyoto. Have a safety travel.

  8. The little cars are called Kei cars, the Kei stands for light automobile. Think they have less taxation or something, and have a engine limit of 660cc or something. A few were imported to the UK, the Dihatsu Copen, and the Nissan Figaro, and Suzuki Cappuccino being the most common. The Suzuki Carrier was a small van, and I think that might have been our Bedford Rascal van. Now next project fir you is to make a camper out of one of them, it's been done, and travel the world !😂 Have to make sure it had a sun roof fitted, so Chris could poke his head out of the top.

  9. Enjoy your time in Japan. It really is a fascinating country. I'm fortunate in that I have visited many times over a 20+ year period, both on business and as a tourist and I can assure you that you're in for a great trip.
Your first park up looks like it's close to where my best mate lives!

  18. I’m pleased you got through Customs ok, Wow this is probably going to the biggest learning curve, language, shopping looks certainly going to be very tasking at first, until you start to understand brands on packaging etc. But no problem to you ardent campers. 🇬🇧🇯🇵
Wish all the best on this leg and look forward to going along with you and your fabulous filming in another country🎌Enjoy❤❤❤❤

  22. Minute criticism — we were loyal followers of your channel kind of up and until a lot of the video titles started taking on gloom and doom click bait style — I know this drives up viewership but you guys are better than this — again: This is a MINUTE criticism.

Enjoy Japan — it is a country like no other!

  23. very impressed she started you must be so pleased, looks amazing looking forward to future videos in Japan.

  24. A bit emotional for me…..
I was in Japan several times in 1980 when I was a merchant sailor.
I was told there was a legend about mount Fuji. Its peak is very often covered in the clouds. Legend says that when you can sea the top on your last visit, it menas you will return at some moment in your life. I think I've been there about ten times. But the peak was only visible fore me at one occasion: that was at my last visit. Now I am 63. If this legend is true, I must return to Japan again…..

  25. Really enjoying these Japan videos! Memories of being there 5 years ago—you noticed the same things we did—vending machines, pictures on menus, no English anywhere (but extremely friendly and helpful people everywhere). Have loads of fun!

  26. So nice. Glad for your to have Trudy back. I've been told that my ancestors in Kentucky/Missouri were business life acquainted with the parents of Samuel Clemmons (Mark Twain) so I especially liked that Mark Twain quote. Yes, dreams do come true as you have said! Happy day and the gent who assisted you getting through the port Japanese Customs and Port Authority was very helpful!

  27. I would be afraid of getting lost, not knowing the language. You are doing so great!! You are off to a great start. Gas, food, a place to sleep, a bathroom, great job!!
