I tried driving north on Route 502 from the vicinity of the viewpoint near Yuzawa Onsen, located in the northern part of Nagano Prefecture, in an Audi TT RS. It is possible to continue towards Sakae Town and further into Niigata Prefecture.

In this video, there were no oncoming vehicles on Route 502. The road conditions were quite good, and there were very few potholes or cracks on the surface.
