#3michelinstar #singapore #zén
In this video, we are going somewhere we’ve never gone before. For the first time ever, we visited an Asian 3 michelin star restaurant. In Singapore, we find our restaurant for today. Zen.
It was opened by Swedish chef Bjorn Frantzen and the Executive Chef is Tristan Farmer.
Tristan joined the Frantzen group in 2018 as Executive Chef at Zen. He got his first two Michelin stars within one year of opening and the third in 2021.
They have a 9 course tasting menu for €400.
Photos of the restaurant was taken by Pol Divina.

You guys wrote a lot of questions in the comments, but unfortunately I don't have enough time to answer them one by one.
So we figured we'd do a Q&A on instagram on Tuesday. See you there! 🙏🏻

When are you going to NOMA?
fun fact about the knives shown at 9:50 Mora is a city in Sweden and "kniv" is knife, the company is called Morakniv and the term "Morakniv" is basically used for most outdoors knives.. in the same way americans use the word q-tip for their cotton swabs.
Man, your videos were all masterclass!
Welcome to Singapore!
Loves his Krug 2008, this chap.
This guy is the best so crazy how quick he’s reached 100k (although not surprising) one of my must watches as soon as he puts out a new video
I’m Singaporean and I’m so glad that you shared your experience at Zen with us! Everything looks well thought out, from the menu to wine pairing to dining in different rooms, and even the chinaware. Service looks authentic and warm without being stiff. And of course those food shots are spectacular (not a good idea watching this at night heh). Cheers Alexander, can’t wait for your reviews of Odette and Les Amis!
i want to hear you say "sewss" instead of sauce ffs
I would also like to eat there. Been to Björn's restaurant in Stockholm and yes it was a fantastic show and a super lunch. In your video, you recognize yourself from the Stockholm restaurant. Thank you very much for showing me all 3 stars. <3
I don’t doubt the food was good but let there be no mistake- the menu was 400 EURO not because the meal was worth that price but because Singapore is an outrageously overpriced place and because it is a tiny country that needs to import everything. Frankly you can have the same experience elsewhere without paying that price and Singaporeans know that.
Bring me to one of the restaurants!!!!
Luckily this lamb had a sauce! It is looking good! <3
It must be a very delicate balance. If I was dining in a 3 star restaurant I certainly would not appreciate a camera crew present in any capacity-
Wow what a review!! Glad you enjoyed SG!! Many more amazing experiences to be had all across Asia
bjorn is smart, doing the exact same thing in another place. Tristan is good, smart and hardworking. But nothing from his menu is his own.
We ate at frantzen last januari and at zen two weeks later. We ate the exact same menu. Both great, but felt kinda weird we ate the same menu in 2 weeks 10.000km apart.
As a Swede it's amazing to see an exclusive, posh Morakniv (knife from the city of Mora), pop up from nowhere. Here it's a common, outdoor, everyday sort of item found in most homes, often used for whittling and such.
Honestly, the teams at every restaurant you attend must be so proud of what they achieve daily. It's an incredible experience and Zen beautifully demonstrates everything you could possibly want from a cosy, luxury dining establishment. Incredible.
When are you going too Sweden and try Franzen 🇸🇪
He looks like Matthew Parry's handsome cousin
Alex this is quality content ! Please come to “L’Auberge du vieux puits”3* at fontjoncouse by Gilles Goujon is the south of france not far from the spanish border, i would love to have your opinion.
Keep up these videos are such a elegant way to discover other chefs
Still waiting for the Frantzen visit!! Especially after this great video!
Amazing!!!
Um, what was the total? Was looking forward to the reveal.
Not too many Restaurants that get reviewed on other YouTube Channels seem to be worth the price to me in the long run. So after watching your review of Zen I can really say it looked and felt like the 400 Euro is worth it. (430.36 USD)
Sigh, too bad can't afford the flight to Singapore though!
seems to be a perfect place to work !! very rare !
GRATS ON 100k!!!
superb
the best. simply the fucking best. thank you for giving us a glimpse into this world
ngl you worded it poorly by saying it's a good thing at the European architecture since it's colonialism
Prolly not worth, needs less gimmicks and chef should be more daring,. Service seems 10/10 tho.
100k already! Here at 16k and I can tell I'll be there for 1M soon <3
This man would choose a 2008 Krug over water from the fountain of youth. Keep up the good work!
