Wrap up warm and experience Orkney during the winter months.

Winter at 59 degrees north can be wild and wonderful. Stormy weather is often mixed with cool, calm days of beautiful bright light across the islands. You’ll also be guaranteed peace and quiet at our ancient sites and out on our rugged coastline, where you can experience the Orcadian elements at their best.

There’s always a warm welcome inside too, with museums, galleries and visitor centres full of fascinating exhibits and artefacts for you to explore. And you’ll never be short of an Orkney food and drink option either.

Plan your visit to Orkney this winter, and discover the wild side of the islands.

  1. Wonderful place & the Orcadians are so friendly. Stayed in Kirkwall during June this year (2022). Would definitely return & revisit the Ring of Brodgar, Maeshowe & Scara Brae.

  2. Have you informed the local population that Orkney is to be cleared, as per the UK Fires Absolute Zero report – with this report also explaining why there is a ferry fiasco (i.e no intention to renew ferries, as passenger ferries are set to end by 2030)?

Or have you forgotten to mention the above as you are also unaware of it?

Of course, none of this information will affect house prices on the islands when you come to sell…
