As a foreign expat retiring to the Philippines in Asia, how do you spend your remaining time wisely on earth? You need to live with purpose, even during retirement, have a reason to get up in the morning. It’s important to be active, do the things you loved doing prior to moving here. Take up a new hobby, educate yourself in a degree subject. Meet new friends and maintain a good social life. Be kind to people, show compassion, humility, forgiveness, gratitude to others.

Why do expats retire to the Philippines? Why choose a big Asian city such as Cebu city rather than live in the province? When you’re there you feel like you’re stuck in an 80s/90s time warp with the old skool music blaring out and the outdated infrastructure.

Cebu is a vibrant Asian city and favorite travel destination in Asia. Cebu has the best of both world – combining the city life of shopping malls and nightlife with beaches and paradise islands. 3. I thought my happy place was Philippines and Thailand. I thought after I found a gf all would be good. Nope. I needed to keep busy doing something productive to occupy my time. The mall , bus trips and exploring get boring quick. The gf wasn’t the answer either. I’m back home rethinking my plan.
Some ex pats start a business. I know why but I’m not going to try that.

  10. Great video…When I first started watching your channel I thought you looked a bit weird with those glasses and hair but I guess you can't judge a book from it's cover. But please get a haircut and new glasses 😊

  11. As a guy going through something of a transition myself, I think this was your best video yet, Phillip. As a gym rat my whole life, thankfully I’ll always have that to occupy at least some of my time. Unfortunately, I don’t think the Philippines is the answer for me relationship wise, but I hope you find what you’re looking for there.

  15. Keywords…money, scooter, dive mask, snorkel, flip flops with heel strap, cenomar, girlfriend in her 20s, a/c bedroom, ice cold beer, vodka, cigarettes, lounge chair, laptop, sitting in plastic chairs for hours on end, living in Cebu forum, viagra, 30 dollars a day just on food and beer…

  16. Nice photo collage pieces.I plan to get back into art upon moving there when the surfing is down, riding my bike, practicing music.Getting good at cooking fresh fish on the cheap.Keeping both peckers up.

  17. I'll be "semi-retiring" in Davao City in April, 2024, and I'll be 66 years old but in excellent health. I'll be working for a U.S. company 40-60 hrs. monthly, so I'll still have plenty
of time to travel, scuba dive, socialize, exercise and many other things. I'll get there with 13,000,000 Pesos in savings, no debt, and 250,000 Pesos of monthly income, so
I'll have the wealth and freedom to go and do as I please, and still save about 150,000 Pesos every month. I don't have plans to seek out a Filipina, but If I met a good one

in the course of my day, I might spend some time with her. I'll enjoy my freedom, prosperity and peace every day,.
