Fenqihu has a very interesting history tied to railroad development in Taiwan. A surprising number of foods are very unique to Fenqihu, and we enjoyed them all! We also hiked the nearby Logging Trail (more railroad ties!). From bento boxes to train cakes to famous donuts, you don’t want to miss Fenqihu!

In Fenqihu, Taiwan, the town’s history is rooted in trains and the logging industry. The town is known for its food, including delicious donuts and rice cakes. They also have famous Bento boxes, which were traditionally eaten by loggers passing through. The town is picturesque, with 7-Elevens, alleyways, and ponds to explore. We hiked along the Logger’s Trail, a historic path used for hauling lumber. The trail was filled with stairs (so many stairs!) and led to a beautiful bamboo grove. Train cakes were one of the most unique things we ate while in Fenqihu!

  1. Once again you nailed it and your presentation is right up there. Currently I place you a bit ahead of OnePackWonderers but there is not a lot in it.

  2. Welcome to Taiwan ,Beautiful People.

Come To see you again ❤😁😁😁.

  3. Thanks for showing your trip to Ali mountain, I have not been to Chiayi or Ali mountain for years; even though, I was born in Chiayi.

  5. Tea. If you guys like tea, don’t miss tea. Taiwan’s soil and climate is perfect for tea, especially high elevation tea. Tea culture is huge in Taiwan. 7-11. It’s every where. The island has one of the biggest concentrations of 7s. Suggest looking up all the possible services they offer.

  6. 看你們的每一個動作反應真好玩,同樣的東西為什麼我感覺沒那麼好吃?但是看妳們吃又感覺特別好吃?why?

  7. The 2nd tour of donut, not committing the same mistake: buy 2! – that made me burst of laught 🤣

  8. -0K+300 means zero kilometer plus 300 meters into the trail.
-Some Taiwanese count years in Republic of China years alongside the Gregorian calendar. Year of 111 is the same as 2022. Just add 1911(when ROC was founded)

  9. @15:31 "OK+150"? That's the roadside mileage tag to show you how far from the beginning (or the end) of the trail to the current position. You've finished the first zero kilometer plus 150 meters. Way to go!

  10. Speaking of Bento boxes, if you are still in Taiwan, you must try TR Bento(台鐵便當)in Taipei Main Station 1F/B1!!! Only costs NT60 then you can have a hearty meal.

  11. When I researched 7-Eleven in Alishan, it seems that there are three. Each elevation is 2050m, 2178m and 2200m. Looking at old information, the altitude of the highest 7-Eleven in Taiwan was 2050m. On the website dated 2022, it was written that the 7-Eleven at an altitude of 2200m is the highest in Taiwan.

Yesterday (June 4th), I saw a YouTube video called "Currently Hannah". Hannah is Australian and lives in Japan. She recently went to Taiwan. I watched her latest video (Taiwan's Most Beautiful Hike – Jiaming Lake) and was blown away by the beautiful scenery. As she said in the video, Taiwan is about the same size as Kyushu and has 268 mountains over 3000m (Japan only has 21!). Also, Japan's highest mountain is Mount Fuji (3776m), while Taiwan's highest mountain is Yushan at 3952m! I think that the charm of Taiwan is not only the delicious food, but also the wonderful nature.

  12. Thanks again 4 the suggestions for our family summer vacation. I hope U2 haven’t done too much damage to your clothing budget. 😂. Take care and have a great time in Taiwan.
