You really gotta know the area before hopping on the bus, especially a bus back to the union square area is not going to be pleasant (going straight through the worst area in SF). Glad you found the muni tram – much more pleasant!! Bus is always much much worse in USA, not like Australia.

Absolutely love the bay area for its diversity but trust me, don't leave your belongings in the car and always be aware of your surroundings.

That shit on the floor in the bus is only in SF ππ I'm glad you guys had fun tho and eating good food. Oh in Vegas, you guys gotta try kbbq at hobak and Hachi, it's a Japanese izakaya restaurant that opens late. The severs there are great and specially the assistant manager, she's the sweetest person ever.
The food price is even more expensive than Sydney wow… thought u.s is much cheaper
One week would be perfect. 3 days in the shitty (SF) and check out the Mission for the best Mexican food, Chinatown/Japantown and maybe South City along with the Castro for night life ;). then 2 days in San Jose for of the best Vietnamese food in the US. My vote for best pizza is Golden boy in North Beach though tbh. As long as you don't rent a car, you should be fine in SF
