Tokyu Kabukicho Tower is Japan’s first skyscraper designed by a woman, architect Yuko Nagayama. It opened on April 14th, 2023 and is located in Shinjuku’s Kabukicho nightlife district. It stands at 225m (738ft) and has 48 floors.
The building is a large complex with nightlife entertainment, an arcade game center, a musical/play theater, premium movie theaters, a virtual experience attraction, a fitness center, two different hotels, and various restaurants and bars.
The most interesting area is the 2nd floor, named Kabuki Hall, where you can find a cyberpunk-style area full of drinking bars and food from different areas of Asia and Japan completely decorated with retro signage, materials, modern TV screens, neon lights, etc. This area is meant to complement the nightlife vibe of Kabukicho, where many people go to drink and eat until the late hours of the night. This floor is open until 5am.
And just above that on the 3rd floor is Bandai Namco’s gachapon and arcade game center where you can win some cool prizes, drink alcohol, and get involved in some events such as One Piece card games or chill out and enjoy the virtual DJ’s playing music.
Up on the 17th floor, you can get yourself a cup of gelato and enjoy the views of western Shinjuku and the train tracks down below.

  1. The TKTS booth in New York sells half price tickets for same day shows. As I can remember…

  2. Thank you for the video Cory! I love watching your videos as I'm not sure when I will be able to visit myself. Japan is incredible to me.

  3. Excellent video. Even at the quiet time where you filmed, the place is pretty much my idea of hell on earth 😱 I've watched VJs vid that he made when it was busy, just watching that made me stressed and claustrophobic 😀

  4. That certainly looks like an interesting building, out of curiosity do they ever use a fog machine or akin in the evening?
