As an RVer (and especially a man), cooking outside feels like a requirement…But what if you can’t cook? And if you can’t cook, is there still hope?

  1. I’ll buy it. I didn’t think the Davey Crockett was available any longer. I bought one for my son and we had some great meats for years. Now he moved 19 hrs away and I only get smoked meat when I visit. Turkey is my favorite. I’m tempted to buy me my own smoker so I can have it more often. TOTALLY worth it!!!

  2. I just bought a portable smoker-“Trek”and have learned a few things: keep the temp low for the first 2 hours. This will create a good, flavorful smoke. (You can buy a smoke tube, but men dont take shortcuts, lol)
Secondly, when cooking meat that needs a sear, put a cast iron pan or tortilla iron in above/beside your meat. When meat is done, the cast iron will be super hot and and will sear your steak/burgers like a pro!
Enjoy! I just smokes a brisket today.

  3. I travel with my Blackstone and GRilla pellet grill. you need 5" cast iron skillet and Nestle toll house dough. cook in smoker at 350 for about 10 minutes add a scoop of ice cream and hot fudge and caramel. I travel with 6 of these fry pans due to curious neighbors. also Pillsbury pie crust and pie filling for mini pies

  4. I think being a "manly man" is overrated! All you need to be is a respectable man who shows respect towards others. That being said, that slow-cooked… sorry, smoked braised brisket looks great! As to how early you need to get up to smoke meat, I think it's a personal preference. I'm not much of a person to wait so long to eat a decent meal – six to twelve hours is my limit! 😂

  5. I think once you know and understand the process, you will likely love to do it. Everyone starts somewhere.

  6. The GMG Davy Crockett is nicer but I switched to a Pit Boss Tabletop for the RV. The DC is a little too tall for our basement bays. The PB also has a sear feature adding flexibility.

  7. That was funny. I am not sure I am a man either. I do not know how to cook and I burn hamburgers on a grill. But fun watching all of the real men knowing what to do.

  8. Smoke meatloaf! You haven’t lived until you’ve eaten a smoked meatloaf. A gourmet treat. Check it out!

  9. Love these episodes where you’re all together 😊 I think passionate cooks are born, but I think a person can learn to like cooking enough to be good at it or can love eating amazing food enough to become good at cooking. I don’t think I could make myself become as passionate as Cory and Stewart are about it, lol.

  10. Your feast looks absolutely wonderful 😋 I have never smoked anything in my life. I can grill though.

  11. BEST VIDEO EVAH! I wish it came with piped-in scent. I am drooling! You and Stuart cooking together was absolutely hilarious. I cringed watching you, Nathan, cutting that first lime, but he caught it right away. Hahahahaaaa! Everything looked wicked awesome (Travis should know that New England phase)! When we head back east to New Hampshire from our journey to California next week, let us know when dinner is! Is there something special about black rubber gloves when cooking? I'm not familiar with that but looked so professional. Apologies for getting any names wrong!

  12. Man if you haven't wanted to grill/smoke meat by now well I will be nice xxxxxbxx x x x xxx x x x x x lol

  13. I love my Blackstone grill. I have done some smoked turkeys in the past, but the Blackstone comes to life for me! Enjoy the meals with your friends.

  14. It just amazes me how sheltered many people are now. Our two sons have both married and their wives have no idea (like Nathan) how to cook anything. So, our sons do almost all the cooking.

  15. Practice makes perfect. Theres so much content online now to learn the techniques. If you love it then you'll get better over time.

  16. LOL!! Had our Davey since 2017 till replacing with Asmoke350 4 months ago. Getting old and loading the Davey in and out of the truck was getting harder. You will never go back after the first time you cook that 15 LB turkey in the Davey… trust me. We use the smoker/grill for everyday cooking outside instead of a grill. The Asmoke has a heat diverter that can be opened for that direct fire sear at the end…SOLD! Stay safe guys.

  17. BTW…do not use the older style Davey on a wood table top on the spring looking legs… I managed to scorch black a wood picnic table in a National Forest.. (location redacted ). 😁 one more thing… smoked Au Gratin potatoes….'nuff said Get you a set of baking pans just for the grill.

  18. I am trying to work and listen to this at the same time, and I am nearly crying I'm laughing so hard. Poor tired Nate! Will be watching this one again with my husband later.

I am not a man, but I certainly do NOT have the patience for smoking. Love to cook and bake and make my own chocolate, but smoking is another level. Good thing you have friends that smoke!

  19. Real cooks are born however you can push yourself to learn things you aren’t good at and you will get better. You may never have a passion for cooking but you, your family and friends will appreciate the effort you put in and the food will taste so much better. Always be willing to push yourself. Just seeing you push yourself in something new for you is awesome. Keep at it.

  20. When I first got my Oklahoma Joe stick burner, I was watching the smoke, temp etc closely. My wife said “Do you just sit there for hours watching smoke ?” I said “It’s science and you wouldn’t understand “ she said “Huh…looks like you’re just drinking beer and watching smoke to me “ . Good stuff. Take care.

  21. There’s no reason that you’d have to go through that much trouble to have good food. You can cook simply over the grill without all the fuss. Maybe try some hobo packs which are hamburger patty, carrots, potatoes, onions, salt and pepper wrapped in foil then cooked over the campfire or on the grill. Simple and good. Don’t worry Nathan, everyone has different things they like to do and cooking is not one thing you enjoy so it’s OK. It was a fun video to watch for sure.
