Agree totally with the Business class seat layout on the ANZ B777. Its no better on our 787 Dreamliner.

With my experince most Western airlines doesn't have good interiors nor their service is good.. that's because the service culture is not their in crew. Now if you check any middle eastern airline, there are vast differences in service, type & quality of food they serve.
I would hate inward facing seats! Facing into the isle?? How do you look out the windows without causing neck damage? Omg. Better to fly economy in this case!
I flew economy on the air nz 777 back in 2006. It was only half full from heathrow to la then only a handful of people got back on for the leg from la to Auckland. We all had whole rows to ourselves and the crew were great, if you wanted a glass of wine, they'd leave you the whole bottle and pretty much dine on demand. I remember the food was pretty good for economy. It was the start of the best 4 months of my life

I hate their business class. I used AIR NZ business class last year. To be honest, the service was good. Flight attendants should take all the credit if I have any positive comment. 10/10 for their service. But the design of the seat.. man.. i feel like siting in the waiting room in the clinic. No privacy. Doesnt feel like business class at all. So this year, I am welling to spend more money to take other airline’s business class.. sorry Air NZ.. i wont consider to use your business class anymore before you update your century old business class to the newer seating design

Air New Zealand is upgrading there seats next year. Including the new SkyNest, the new economy, new premium economy, new business premier and new business premier lux suite. Dan, I would recommend flying Air NZ next year on air nz and hopefully there will be a better experience.
Don't they hae focus groups or something that tests seating layout? Aside from the obvious lack of privacy, it just looks untidy and chaotic. I know it's a mass transport system but creating the illusion of privacy in a premium product does matter.

I have to apologise on behalf of the ramp boys because we work out there in Auckland airport on the ramp for airnz and quite frankly ever since covid things have definitely changed. 80mins is definitely way too long but we just don’t have the man power out there atm. We’ve hired more people who’ve only just started and it is gonna take a while to train them up on the machines

Thanks for your review. Having just completed my latest Air France Long haul business class flight (11.5 h) it’s interesting to make comparisons. Definitely A.F. is superior from what I’ve seen here. Like you I hate A.NZ’s layout and their food seems way inferior. Agree completely about more and more airport lounges. They have become a joke but there are plenty of people who fall for this scam thinking (imagining) they’re getting something special 😄

I use a CPAP when I sleep. I didn't see anywhere to place the machine at this seat. ??? I'd like to get a decent rest on a plane, and no one wants to hear me snoring.
I flew them from Auckland to Vancouver in their business using 777/200 it’s was awful felt like plastic seats and no individual air vents for 15 hours ;/ never again
