通し矢 大的全国大会 三十三間堂 京都観光 Moments in Kyoto – Toh-shiya | Archery Contest Sanjyusangendo Kyoto Japan



京都の初春の風物詩と言えば「通し矢」毎年成人の日が近くなると京都東山三十三間堂で開催れる恒例行事となっています。境内西側で６０m離れた的にめがけて弓を射り制限時間２分で２本の矢が的に当たれば予選通過、決勝は外した者が脱落していき、最後まで的中した選手が優勝となります。
参加者資格は開催年度に成人を迎え、かつ弓道初段以上となっており、特に大会の華が「成人女子の部」２０歳を迎えたばかりの女性たちが美しい晴れ着姿で競技に挑み、凛として華麗。

20 years old pretty Japanese women dressed in Furisode & Hakama gathered from all over the country shoot arrows 60 meters away 1 meter target in diameter. This national martial arts new year event so-called Toh-shiya is held on Sunday closest to every January 15th Coming-of-Age Day.

    For those who are wondering what is going on here. It’s a Kyudo/archery competition held in Kyoto in the middle of January every year. This video only shows the young girls’ competition who has turned/will be 20 this year or “new adults”, but other people of different categories are also competing in the same day. Since this tournament is held around the coming-of-age day for new adults, they wear traditional kimono and hakama to celebrate. These girls are mostly Kyudo club members of colleges around Kansai area.
