This street food tour in Colombia ended up not being how I expected… Other than the scary experience we had in Bogotá we loved everything about Colombia. The fresh flavours, rich history and friendly people drown out any negativity we felt during our stay in Colombia.
In this episode we visited the Perseverance Market in La Perseverancia, a working-class neighbourhood situated on the steep slops of Bogotá. Colombia goes hard on the soup game and at the market we tasted 2 : the coconut milk based soup/aphrodisiac : “the mattress breaker” as well as a hearty 3 meat monster of a stew. After a quick stop at the Botero Museum we experimented with Colombian coffee before things took a turn for the worse.

this area where you are just before the cut about the robbery, is only 1 block from 10th avenue, which is a very hectic and busy comercial area… pickpockets and mobile phone snatches are common in places like that. sorry to hear you experience this and that nothing serious really happened.

read a lot of reports about Colombia in general petty crime and kidnappings have skyrocketed,these people deserve no tourism untill the government fixes the problem.Trump was perfectly right these people do not bring anything positive with them.

Never one to comment over the years; glad you got through that with minimal damage. Always have your guide or security in some places because local thugs will sniff out an unaccompanied target in seconds. Happens quite a bit in my country and the thieves are often coordinated with handovers of stolen goods.

There are bad people in all countries, just remember to look after yourself out there. A phone is a phone and can be replaced but a human life cannot. Good to hear it all worked out okay though. Hope you feel better soon.

idk if Colombia legalized gun or not but imagine if the thief was armed! You were courageous but also reckless! Glad it was a happy ending! (as long as your life is safe, then it was a happy ending imo) be safe and you need to go to the hospital asap, don't underestimated head injury…no matter how light it is
