I am going to Japan this Fall and this is the hotel I chose to stay at in Kyoto. I like that you can lock your room for extra peace of mind.

CoCo Ichibanya is indeed a thing in the U.S., though all but one of their restaurants is located in Southern California so it's still limited in access to most Americans.
I'm in the US (Oregon) and I've never seen a CoCo Ichi. The US is a big place though. I've never seen a Waffle House or a Bucky's either 😊

今回の朝飯は、全く間違ってないけど！
Haha when Itsuka-san showed the breakfast choice I said "Oh! Grilled Mackerel, YUM!!" and you got the mackerel! The hotel looked clean and comfortable, and being able to lock the door gives peace of mind. I would say it was an excellent choice.
Fifty-one bucks on my side of the Pacific won't get you a room as nice as that one!

I just came back from a business trip in Japan, I had curry every night 🙂 I LOVE JAPANESE CURRY! And had some more curry even at the airport lounge on my way out. Japanese curry is a must try for those that do not like Indian curry. By the way, this hotel is kind of expensive. For that kind of price, you can get a typical business hotel room that's completely private with TV and bathroom.
