Thuong and I had a great time today trying many unique Japanese snacks from all over Japan. There was a nice variety of Japanese foods, from sweet to salty and a nice tea to top it off.

  1. Love you guys and your channels! You have inspired me to go back to school and learn Japanese!

  2. Lolol I had so much fun watching this video! You both are such an adorable, cute and lovable couple!

  3. and the million dollar question — Asahi SuperDry or .. Asahi SuperDry?
But I will never turn down umeshu or grapefruit sour either.

Interesting that the translation of 'madai' is 'red snapper'.
I was a marine biology major at UNC-W, and 'red snapper' was indeed the local name given to what Japanese call madai … but they are not members of the snapper family. 'Porgy' … as in Gershwin's 'Porgy and Bess' is a better name to distinguish tai from true snappers.

And a question for Thuong … I coudn't help but to notice that though you are 'Far Eastern', you seem to communicate and express yourself more like an American rather than like a Japanese. Just wondering if you feel the same way … and if so, is that is more due to Vietnamese culture, your individual character before you met your husband, or a gradual evolution of communication style because of your international marriage? I know this is a difficult question … and might make for a separate video about communication styles altogether.

    Cheers, both of you.
    Enjoyed this video.

  4. The snacks look yummy! You’ve inspired me to check out the snack selection in the Japanese market near my house to see what they’ve got! 👍

  5. I love Japanese food, but I've never been crazy about Japanese snacks. Too much red bean, for one thing. You have to go to Hokkaido for the good stuff!

  6. I blame you guys for making me spoilt my dieting plans now, where I had lost weight following your cycling videos 🤣

  7. 哇,我从来没见过这么多各式各样的零食,包装看起来也非常精美,非常羡慕你们!and you guys are funny ,i love your channal.

  8. I’ve been thinking about getting some of this kind of stuff for a while from the Japanese import company here, but couldn’t decide on what to get. So I subbed to this with the code. It looks like good stuff, especially compared to the more gimmicky looking other subscription boxes that exist.

  9. I like "Bontan Ame" grapefruits candy.Sticky soft and mild sweet with yellow color .Have you ever tried it ?

  10. Japanese sweets are great. I recommend that you go to a convenience store and buy a few different things just to try them. I also recommend wagashi. You might not like everything but that is OK as you are on vacation to try new things. Great video – thanks for introducing a number of Japanese snacks. Now we have to get on your bikes to burn off all calories.

  11. Looks like a great way enjoy Japan! Wonder how shipping to the US would be with everything happening right now. And just recently I cycled the Clinton River trail to Yates Cider Mill, tasty cider and fried donuts. Thanks for the video!

  12. I've had umeboshi flavoured chips before, was a pleasant surprise.

  13. Wow! Those snacks look awesome. My mouth is watering now. I've tried various snacks while traveling through Asia. Mostly from the Philippines and Indonesia. They are quite unique, and a lot more healthy than many here that give you a high sugar buzz. We have a number of great Asian markets here that feature foods from all over Asia. I will try and find some of these, if not, I will purchase that box. By the way, how did you both feel after devouring all of that? Was it Plop Plop Fizz Fizz (Alka-Seltzer) time? I'm with you, I also love tea. My two favs, Jasmine and ginger green tea. You're a lot of fun, Thuong. Much mahalo!!

  14. Love the snacks! Will look for them next we're visiting. Good to see you're getting sponsors. 🙏🥟🍘🇯🇵🤗
