Overview:
・Mount Aso is an active volcano located in the center of Kyushu, Japan. It is a general name for a group of volcanoes. Mount Aso is also the origin of Kumamoto Prefecture’s nickname “Fire Country”.
Now the entire volcanic area has been included in the scope of Aso-Kuju National Park. Close contact with the crater, the pungent sulfur smell, and feel the imprint left by the volcanic eruption.
・Kamishikimi Kumanoimasu Shrine, which is the story stage of the popular Japanese girl comic “Firefly Forest”. About 100 stone lanterns are lined up in a row. Walking on the shrine’s approach feels like entering another world.
・Aso Kamenoi Hotel, located at the foot of the magnificent Aso Five Mountains, is a hot spring resort hotel with mountain view rooms. There are traditional Japanese tatami rooms, Japanese hot springs, and an all-you-can-eat crab leg buffet dinner.
