 ーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーーー
D: Maple, are you feeling hungry?
 M: Yes, I’m absolutely starving!
D: Great, let’s head to that Brazilian place we promised each other to visit.
M: Awesome! I’ve never had Brazilian food before, so I’m really excited!
D: Yes, when we went to that Peruvian restaurant last time, I mentioned that Hamamatsu has a lot of cultural influence from South American countries. Brazil is actually located in South America next to Peru, and it’s the farthest country from Japan.
M: Really? So, does that mean when you look at a globe, Brazil is located directly opposite Japan?
D: That’s right! And did you know that the Brazilian population of Hamamatsu is the largest immigrant community in the city? It’s estimated to be around 10,000 people.
M: Wow, that’s a lot! What language do they speak?
D: In most South American countries, Spanish is the official language, but in Brazil, Portuguese is the official language.
 M: I see.
D: This is the place.
M: It looks like a grocery store.
D: Right. It is a grocery store, but there is a restaurant inside.
The restaurant used to be located in Central Ward, but it moved to this location in South Ward in May, 2020.
 M: I see.
Let’s go in. I’m so hungry.
 D: Sure.
M: Gordinhus?
D: Yep. That’s the name of this place.
D: Why don’t we order Guarana to drink?
 M: Guarana?
D: It’s a popular carbonated soft drink in Brazil. Guarana is actually a plant native to the Amazon region in Brazil. The soda is made from the extract of guarana seeds and it has a slightly sweet and fruity flavor.
M: Great. I want to try that.
M: There are so many food options to choose from.
D: I know. My favorite is rib fingers called BANANINDA DE COSTELA.
 I’ll order this one.
M: Cool. I want to try this Chicken Fillet in Breadcrumbs with Tomato Sauce.
 D: Sounds good.
M: Our meals come with rice, beans, and salad, right?
D: Yes, that’s right! It’s buffet-style, so you can have as much as you want.
M: I can’t wait to try it all!
D: Remember to save some room for the main dish and some dessert.
D: Maple, look.
 I love it.
 M: That must be great.
 D: Yours is ready, too.
 M: Looks so good!
D: That’s breaded and fried chicken breast topped with tomato sauce and melted cheese.
 M: Great.
M: For dessert, the waiter recommended their carrot cake.
 Let’s share it.
 D: Sure, let’s do that.
After we finish eating, let’s check out some Brazilian grocery items here.
 M: Sounds like a plan.
D: By the way, do you know what the flowers called lilies are?
M: Yes, I think they’re called “yuri” in Japanese.
D: There’s a great place to see lilies in Fukuroi City.
Do you want to go there with me next week?
M: For sure! I love flowers!
