After taking the Shinkansen bullet train from Osaka we’ve arrived in Tokyo for the first time. In this video we’re exploring the massive city of Tokyo. We make our way through the city visiting the busiest pedestrian intersection in to world, Shibuya Crossing. We also visit a green space called Yoyogi Park (where there are still a few cherry blossoms left).

Afterwards we head back to our neighbourhood of Akasaka where we visit a cat cafe (Coo Rikuya) and get some sushi at Itamae Sushi. Later we head to a local craft beer place (Carbon Brews).

  1. We haven't been to Japan yet, but the Tokyo you showed in this video is so much more relaxing and quiet than I would expect. Great video, y'all!

  2. The Asian culture is so interesting. The city that I work for has a very large Japanese population and they are just such amazing people. Very family oriented and very quiet, mostly to themselves yet so very nice and welcoming. Crime is very low. I can imagine Japan itself is much like this. And the sushi has got to be amazing! Lol 🍣🍱🤤

  3. Another great informative travel guide.
Was really surprised looking behind you at all the English 😮.
I assumed it would be nothing but Japanese.
Now I can add Tokyo to my bucket list.

  4. The bicycles here may seem like they’re not locked because they’re not visibly chained, however, most bicycles have an O-lock around the rear tire to prevent the wheel from moving. 👌🏻

  5. All japanese cities are developed exactly the same way. Downtown being the main developed area with few large outer train stations being developed. Anything beyond downtown and few major train stations are exactly the same. Rural low density style 2 story residential neighborhoods with main roads only 2 lanes wide and old above ground train tracks and train stations. Every Japanese city is exactly the same style. Downtown plus few major train stations. Also half the people you see are just train passengers. Outside of train stations theres zero activity. Japan has only human activities around train stations

  6. Sushi and sashimi is a recent phenomenion in japan and was rarely eaten just 100 years ago. Japanese sushi rolls originated from korean kimbap and Japanese sashimi originated from Korean raw fish which go back more than 2000 years in history. Also ginza Shibuya and Shinjuku is originally korean territory and most businesses are Korean owned. It has to do with korean yakuza influence. As most yakuza in Japan are koreans and most pachinko and vending machines are ran by koreans.

  7. Love it! Would you mind sharing what drone you use? We're thinking it might be a must for our next trip. 🙂

  8. I mean this to help your channel. I enjoy your content but you need to do more research, since you guys say you don’t, on the country you visit especially when it comes to pronunciations. People watch your channel to be entertained and also to learn. By mispronouncing words doesn’t do anyone any good especially if they go to the country and mispronounce words as well. Google the pronunciation as well as the meanings. Example: Nigiri is pronounced knee-giri NOT knee-jiri as you have been pronouncing it. I noticed this for your Korean pronunciations as well. Respectfully

  9. I’m Japanese living in Tokyo and I recommend you guys to live in Minato-ward in Tokyo, the richest neighborhood, in which a lot of wealthy foreigners live in and it’s the center of Tokyo surrounded by so many things and easy access to anywhere ( Of course shoppings area and craft beers) . Good stations would be Hiroo, Aoyama, Ebisu, Shirokane and such! If you got time, try Uchu brewing, it got one of world beer awards last year. Enjoy your time here!

  10. Has been my home for over 8 years now.. I am still fascinated by this city, clean and still discovering and exploring it.

  11. Great video! Near Asagaya station or along that line is a great place to live.Asagaya station is close to Shinjuku, 10 minutes by train. There rent is also cheap around $215-$400.

I'd suggest a place outside the Yamanote line circle, about 10~15 minutes by train from the city you like. Because rent and prices are a bit cheaper and it's quieter and easier to live there.

It's easier to use a real estate agency that specializes in foreigners, but the total cost is higher.

You should look for a real estate agency that has an exceptionally high word-of-mouth locally and compare prices.

Also, many Japanese people can't speak English, but they can probably understand it, so try to speak slowly and pronounce short sentences clearly.

  12. もっと東京にもリーズナブルで美味しいものがたくさんあるのに なんだか高くて見た目も?な寿司や・・・なんだか残念すぎますね。
    今度はもっとリサーチして再来日してくださいね。

  13. nice to meet you. I'm glad that you enjoyed Japan♪Thank you✨I'm Japanese. I was watching a video with the translation function, were you looking for a comfortable place to live? How about the town called "Kichijoji"? The most livable city ranking is always at the top. Rich in nature and shopping. And you can go to the city center "Shinjuku" in about 10 minutes by train. Comments also use the translation function, so I'm sorry if the sentences are strange or if I'm answering something I didn't ask 💦

  14. U should visit S. Korea, I heard it’s much more convenient and technologically advanced compared to Japan. The living cost can be a little high ($2000-4000 per month). If u want more affordable place, I recommend Vietnam. U can live in a villa and hire a maid to clean ur house 😂 The whole thing probably costs like $1000 a month. Vietnam is much safer than Thailand and the Philippines. if ur frugal, u can rent a place for $300-400

  15. Im not Japanese but my husband is , and we are in Tokyo Bay quite often.. I would suggest to look at Yokohama. Easy to commute ,Close to so many interesting and video- worthy places such as Hakone, Kamakura, Nikko..and much cheaper and quieter. Another suggestion will be Yokosuka but that’s might be a bit far, but affordable and very international with the US military Base there

  16. Hello from Japan👋🇯🇵I enjoyed your video! Hope you find a good place to live☺️

  17. Doing family history research is so rewarding. I started out in 2000, before most of the online resources were available. I'm in the UK and visited County Record Offices where they have copies of old parish records. Most of these are digitalised now, but it was more fun to actually have to travel to each location. On one occasion they even brought out old Bishop's copies of family registers for me, hand written on vellum (animal skin – what they used before paper). I even had to wear those white cotton gloves! My husband's family is fascinating. We are from Wales, but he also has ancestors from England, Ireland, Scotland, Alderney (Channel Islands, where they used to speak Norman French) and even Italy.

  18. Good morning, beautiful people. Best to all of you! I really wish I could travel to everywhere I want to visit and go out everyday to new places. It would mean the world to me and make me so happy. I am 26, stuck in my parents house almost the whole day. I go to therapy twice a week, so depressing. Wish life wasn’t this way. I just want to live a life that makes me happy and traveling all the time will definitely make me happy. I wish you all a life full of joy, peace, and positivity. I hope you all want the same for me 🙂

  19. Tokyo doesn't have any mountains or rivers or beaches nearby. No street food vendors either. Their so called tsukiji fish market is all frozen and refrigerated products and small little restaurants. All the buildings look old and just covered in ads. All taxis look same from 1980s. Everyone drives funny looking tiny miniature shoe box looking toy cars. Lots of old above ground train tracks and train stations. Train stations lack safety doors. Very old train stations. Tokyo still prefers cash instead of credit cards. Tokyo was very different than what was being told online. It felt like stuck in the 1990s

  20. I absolutely love Sapporo Hokkaido in Japan visit there as well, but to answer the problem of price in Tokyo there is a city right above Tokyo called Saitama and it’s very affordable and close to Tokyo via Shinkansen

  21. Why did you eat and drink in an expensive city like Akasaka? If you want to know Tokyo, you should go to downtown.
