Getting naked in front of strangers is not something we are accustomed to. When in Finland, do as the Finnish do. A traditional sauna in Finland is wood fired and completely nude. When you get too hot, step outside in your towel and enjoy a drink before stepping back in. After the sauna, we tried a Finnish delicacy, reindeer.

    I’m not the type most would ascribe this statement to, but public nudity like the sauna doesn’t bother me at all. A Finnish sauna visit sounds really good right now.

    If everyone realised nudity is normal, most psychological hangups would simply fall away.
    For years I experienced the Naturist culture, never once did I witness inappropriate behaviour.

    Hopefully this experience was not too traumatizing. Funny how some people turn all prudish and seem to be ashamed of their bodies, especially 'Muricans and Brits. It's not like you guys have any saggy bits to be ashamed of – but even if you did, so bloody what? You neglected to mention how you felt after the sauna sessions. I always feel incredibly refreshed and CLEAN!
    I remember visiting a large University dormitory in Denmark years ago with my wife (I was in my late twenties then), and we visited the large collective sauna. There was a Ladies section and a Gentlemen section (changing rooms and full sauna for each gender) but both were totally empty.
    Why? You see, the male/female saunas had joint access to a third, mixed sauna section and THAT is where everyone was, towels off, stark naked and enjoying it to the hilt. Nothing sexual about it (well, maybe a wee voyeuristic bit), we were all in our physical prime and just enjoying the view! Having just turned 73, this is now a fond memory.

    When I was a YOUNG Hippie, I used to LIVE on macaroni and cheese.

    It was 17¢ a box.

    If you ever travel to Finland again and go to Tampere, there is this public sauna called Rajaportin sauna. Its also 10/10 sauna and I really recommend it.

    After living here in the states 32 years i was happily surprised how you guys respected Finnish culture without stupid comments, there is way too many click bates and sensation lookers who make videos what they think would sell, without telling the factual story. 31 years Finland native, you guys got it thank you! 🙂

    In Finland it is considered okay to invite ones business partners to sauna and get naked. It is NOT okay to invite your business partners to have a shower and get naked!
