Firewalking is a purification ritual often performed in Japan in winter and spring. It’s mostly commonly done by mountain ascetic hermits known as Yamabushi who were renowned in olden times for their spiritual prowess.
This event took place in Shingu, Wakayama as the follow up to their Oto Matsuri.
