We love visiting roadside stops in Japan. They are called Michi no Eki and we especially enjoy the ones in Okinawa area, with the Onna Michi no Eki being our favorite.
You can try a variety of local cuisines at the many stalls available here. The most popular one is Ryupin serving up the BEST Kakigori in Okinawa. There’s always a line but it’s well worth the wait.
Their signature is the Tropical but you’ll be happy with anything you get here. Pick up some local souvenirs before you leave this Michi no Eki.
