Are you planning to visit Japan, but you want to AVOID THE CROWDS?? Let’s explore lesser-known areas of Japan together!

Today, Linda @iwakunifoodie2317 and I @heratlas are exploring the beautiful prefecture of Ishikawa. This is our first time here!!! This is a bunch of footage I was able to film while we came for a photography PR trip. We were able to try a guided exploration of the prefecture and share it with you hoping more foreigners come to visit.

Ishikawa is super famous for their rural beauty, gardens, mountains, seafood, noto beef (which is high-quality!), crab in the winter, beautiful onsens and ryokans, and pottery! The pottery that Ishikawa is most famous for is Kutani pottery which is all painted by hand and showcases a rainbow of colors.

Ishikawa prefecture is a very easy trip from Tokyo where we recommend staying a night or two… or longer of course!!!

  1. I hope you enjoyed today's video as we dive deeper into lesser-known areas of Japan! Ishikawa is home to Kanazawa, which is popular with eastern tourists, but not many Westerners know about it. I LOOOOOOVED visiting this area and I have 2 MORE VIDEOS coming out from the trip… our super bougie Ryokan experience and visiting Shirakawago.. both dreams of mine. Are you planning to visit Kaga Onsen or Kanazawa in Ishikawa??? We hope you do!

  2. So happy to be able to enjoy my dinner to your videos especially with all the delicious food you always have to show us. You really make me enjoy eating food.🥰 Love how deep into japanese culture and traditions you've been taking us recently🤩 thank you for the video🥰🥰😃😃

  3. My fiancé and I have been dreaming about moving to Japan for so long. We will definitely make it our honeymoon destination but I already know it will make the urge to move even stronger. I get so excited when you post a new video. I love experiencing the countryside vicariously through you until then. 😊❤

  5. I love Kanazawa! We’ve visited twice so far but I’d certainly be happy to go back. Each time you can just branch out a little more. My dream is to do a craft tour of Japan but I’d probably never leave!

  6. It is so nice to see this episode with many pottery contents. I have been following you for few years now and enjoying your everyday life in Japan stuff as I’m expat Japanese living in Australia but initially I found you through pottery related videos few years back so this video brought me back to then. Hope you find some free time and get back into pottery class or pottery shopping spree again.

  7. Loved this video Caitlin! So many things to see and eat! The Pottery is so beautiful and the details✨

  8. Arts and crafts are my jam. Off to spend an hour or two on google maps to find things I'd love to see in Ishikawa!

  9. Thanks for sharing! My husband and I were in Tokyo and Kyoto recently for sakura season and I decided that after this trip we will start exploring smaller towns and cities!
